Just got my hyper 7 PCR edition paul coleman racing version, PCR is supposed to come with a pullstart,

There is no pullstart. anybody have this same problem?

steve

The rtr should come with one. The kit comes with no mill.

just got off the phone with ofna, they are no longer giving the pullstart with the PCR version. ofna guy said the starter box is geared differently and shouldn't have any problems now.

steve

That makes sense. If the engine doesn't have a pull starter it would sit lower helping the center of gravity. If you look at any serious "racing" RC's they ditch the pull starter for the starter box or bump starter.

Where did you order your PCR RTR from??? Sounds like they have the latest stock from OFNA / Ho Bao

Mine didn't come with a pull start either. And the starter box wouldn't turn the engine over until I had my lhs start it. Ran it for 1 tank then it was fine the starter box did its thing!

Wouldn't turn the motor over?

What is that?

Was the moror stuck on tdc?

Or, is the starter box they give you, new GEAR or not, still crap?

:argue:

I would say that the starter box is crap. the engine has so much compression that with the glow plug in it could not turn the engine over. once it ran for a tank it was fine, but the starter box is....well....crap. I have'nt bought another one because the one they gave me works just fine now that the engine is broken in. and i don't feel like shelling out another 60-100 bucks.

I read a tip somewhere, it said to spray a bunch of WD40 into the engine before you start for the first time. Let it work itself into the different parts of the engine, then try the starter. Dont know if it works though, havent tried it myself.
