Just got my Savage 25RTR a few days ago and i've beeen breaking it in. When i go out to start it via Roto Start it usually takes a few tries before it will start. Is this normal with nitros or am i doing something wrong?

Another question is my break hardly works at all. Do i tighten the plastic deal on the end of the throttle servo link?

My last question is, when my truck flips over, the wheels start turning really fast and i can hear the engine revving faster. I've tried setting the Idle Needle so that it doesn't do that, but then it usually dies on take off.

Sorry to ask such dumb questions but the user manuals are pretty vague on some things.

Thanks for any information you can give me!!!

Jake

Welcome to the addiction. Your starting problem might be because there isnt any fuel in the carb when you try to start it. To solve this just plug the exhaust pipe with your finger and turn the roto start until you see the fuel reach the carb.

As far as your brakes are concerned it might be you batteries, are they fully charged? You also might want to consider tightening maybe a 1/4 turn the screws on the brakes. That is to say, the screws that are attached to the brakes.

Hopes this helps you out

The engine revving faster when it's upside down, is that it's losing fuel, thus causing an extreme lean condition.

Loop some extra fuel line around there to give you some walking time before it dies

welcome to the forum first off
first off ,priming is the answer to your first question ,when your first fire it when it is cold stick your finger over the end of the tuned pipe till you see fuel reaching the carb ,
second yes ,the little black plastic knob on the end of the brake linkage turn it clockwise to make the brakes grab alittle better but just watch or you can over tighten it and it WILL power roll the truck forwards into a roll over
and adding a large diameter fuel filter will add alitttle more time before the on back dead reving from flipping over and will offer added protection also .like busted said adding a longer piece of fuel line to the pressure side from the tuned pipe will give you more response time also,so on that note bud

Don't skip over the part about the batteries. Weak batteries will cause the braking and steering to become weak and thats only the beginning of the issues you will have.

Low batteries are the number one cause of runaway RCs. Get a good set of rechargeable for your Radio and a good rechargeable set for your receiver. KEEP THEM CHARGED.

Another item you will want to get ASAP is a failsafe. This will apply the brakes and bring you to idle if there is a loss of communication between the TX and RX. They don't cost much and will save you big bucks when you have a runaway, and you will....

If you don't have rechargable batteries, I would suggest them, but until you get them, be observative. If you still have a full tank of gas, but when you let off the throttle, the servo position is where it was at 10 seconds ago and you're actually moving, take it in and replace the batteries. You can also tell by poor steering performance.

If you can read this, you're really smart!!

if noone in here has a failsafe i can hook you up with 1 from a guy i just bought 1 from ,its a venom micro failsafe and if i am not mistaken he is selling it for 12.50 shipped
lemme know if you want his wmail addy and i will hok the 2 of you up

Please disregard posts like this. Some people post things that so far in left field that they are useless.

Hook me up, that's awesome! I need a failsafe for my Savage, and I don't want to pull the one off my broken T Maxx because it's stuck in there good, and I plan on fixing the maxx. 12.50 shipped is rediculously cheap:OMG:
