Ughh... Tonight I started painting on my new Jconcepts body foe my buggy. After spending about 3 hours laying out a sweet layout, I go to spray some of the black accents. After letting it sit about 15 minutes I thought Id check to see if any areas needed another quick coat and I find a bunch of elephant skin lookin crap. Its real dry looking and already flaky. So I rush upstairs and start erincing it off in the shower. (I also used a brush). I was able to get most of the paint off but theres still areas that I can't get off.. I dont have any ELO (wish I did) and I dont want to ruin this body.. Anyone have any quick pointers to get this crap off?

Also, any idea why it got all elephant skin like?? I was spraying faskolor black at about 25psi in about 65ish degree shop... I cleaned the body like a mofo, so I'm pretty posotive it isnt that..

Ugh.. HELP!

Try some DA or brake fluid to get the rest off.

what did you clean the brush with last time you used it? Could have been something in the brush. Also do you have a moisture trap on your compressor?

I ended up getting it off with Rubbing alcohol but it took some rubbin. Good thing I didnt spray the base color 1st, I would have been screwed..
This is my 1st problem I've had with Faskolor to be honest with ya, but I've never really like the dry-ish spray. I'm really thinking about trying something else though.
My compressor is a badger one. Ill see if I can find the specs on it. From what I can see, it doesn't have a water trap. I havent used it to much, so I dunno how much moisture would be in it anyway, but either way, there was something messed up. I would have snapped pics, but I didnt want it to get any drier than it was..

Thanks for the help.

You really shouldnt use rubbing alcohol, it will dry out the lexan causing it to crack easily, and it can also cloud up the lexan. The only alcohol you should use is denatured alcohol.

I just put it on a rag and scrubbed away. I really didnt have that much paint on it, just enough to make the paintjob look bad..lol.. I did rinse it off right away too. But Ill keep that in mind.

I think I'm gonna head to the hobby shop and pick up some pactra stuff. I used it in the past and liked it, but went with faskolor because I could get it for cheaper and more of it.. Guess now I know why..lol..

Ill be sure to post up some pics of it when I get done.. Thanks again fellas.
