Hey Guys,

We now have a traxxas slash and rustler and so far they're fun to race together, but there's a few things I'd like to do/get to increase the funtime.

First, what do you recommend for batteries and charger?

We have 4 venom 1800's from hobby bench and 1 prophet sport charger.

Problem is the batteries dont last long and can't enjoy enough. I'd like to get better batteries like 3000+ and a decent charger to charge two batteries at the same time. Also... is there a multi-battery charger?

Second, are these things upgradable? Are there motor upgrades? Currently has Titan 12's...

Any input appreciated :)

Thanks!

Get a Mrc Super brain 977 for your charging needs. It has dual out puts. If you have the xl5 esc and 12t Titian, I'd leave that set up alone until your ready for brushless. As for batteries, step up the cell count and mah. The 977 charger can handle 8 cells nimh and, funny enough, so can your esc/motor combo. You WILL NOT think your driving the same truck! 6 cell 1800's are about the bottom of the barrel as far as batteries go these days. Check out allbattery.com for your battery needs. I run an 8 cell 4200 Tenergy pack(fastrcbatteries.com) in my really old Stampede with the xl5 setup and geared up, on the road, I can get 45 mph out of it. Geared 15/87 with 5" tires, it'll get up to around 25-30 mph with about a 30-40 minute run time. Your trucks are probably hitting right around 20 mph on hard surfaces. The on road speed was with a 25/87 gear combo. Don't worry about gearing for now, though. Just keep your mesh good and your motor tight. Get some good batteries and you'll love those trucks even more.
