hey yall know anything about myspace?I'm trying to make it look bad a**.any tips or anything will be apreciated or add me as your friend.hey I'm 16 its the new thing going on.

4u2nv, Myspace is not 18+ it is 16+,if it was 18+ they would not have an age option for 16 or 17.I have found some of my old friends that i have not seen or talked to since elementry school.I have now problem with myspace it has it ups and downs,but I use it mainly for the groups and just to keep in contact with friends if they are not on AIM or I am not.

Charlyroxs,a good site for layouts and just misc. stuff is myspacestuff

Yet another reason the youth of America, and therefore America's future, will end up being fat, lazy and stupid! I am not directing this at any particular individual, but it is sad when todays youth cannot make change without a calculator or register, but know every little chit-chat BS site on the web and make it a point to sign up for every stinkin' one of them and then spend hours every day pounding away on some keyboard instead of getting off their rear ends and doing something, like studying or working or, heaven forbid, actually going out with their friends and hanging out!

I have nothing against the web, or I'm applications. It's made my work life much more efficient and I enjoy visiting sites such as this one to learn and shoot the breeze, but it is in no way the focal point of my life. The first thing I ask someone I meet is not, "Hey, do you have a myspace.com site?"

I hold know anymosity to the creators of sites such as myspace. They're responding to what the market wants and they have advertisers willing to pay. It's the basis of our capitalistic society and I hold no fault towards them for finding a way to make money. I just would like to see more of today's younger men and women using their creativity for something else than developing their own I'm language.

Trust me, the term "C U L8TR" does not bode well in a formal business presentation or doctorate thesis.

Just my two cents and purely my opinion.

Thats weird cuz I dont see the 16-17 for a age option. I'm on myspace actually and really like it. But I hate all these lil 14 year old hookers on there trying to add me (I'm 26) as there "friend". Thats why I said save your time because theres alot of people (Like me) who when they see the younger people, report them and there profiles deleted.. Yeah I might be kinda a prick but ya dont see me on NickJr.com now do ya?
 
I have the same problem with one of my clients. His daughter is 13 and WAS passing herself off to be 17 with nothing but half naked shots of herself along with stripper music and graphics in the background.

They really need to re-think their contact methods. The profile has YET to be deleted. There's not a way for a parent to contact via telephone or anything.

I think it's rediculous.

Just so no one gets the wrong impression, overall, I have nothing against myspace.com or any sites like them nor do I believe that everyone that visits or belongs to those sites is some lazy idiot. I know there are a lot of local bands that have pages there, and as has been mentioned, it can be a good way to stay in touch with friends and family. My issues are when younger kids get on there, like 4U2NV mentioned, and start pimping themselves out without considering the consequences. I don't mean to sound like some fuddy-duddy, but being a father and living in a neighborhood where a neighbor was just arrested for soliciting a 15 year old girl he found on the internet, sometimes I wonder when the message is going to get through?

My point, basically, is that, if you choose to post personal information about yourself on a site like myspace, keep in mind that anyone in the world can see it! I've heard of instances where kids say, "Well, I changed my name" but then put the name of their school and the city they live in. Doesn't take a member of Mensa to track down your real name, just from that little bit of information!

There are idiots and fools everywhere. Just be careful.

This is so true! A girl that works at the same places as my wife had to use a calculator to figure out a 10% discount...This girl was valedictorian of her senior class.
My son's teacher is teaching the kids how to do math on a number line, I don't interfere with that but I'm teaching him to do the problems in his head. She doesn't agree but I told her I want him to learn how to think with out any aids. The girl I just told you about is a big part of why I feel this way.


PS: what is myspace? I didn't know they had things on the internet that was not pertaining to rc?

You know what I really don't agree with? Every teacher that I've ever known of wants to have every stupid step in your "problem solving".

2x + 4 = 22

You know the answer, but you have to waste all this paper (and trees for that matter.)

The truth is, the "real world" doesn't care how you got your answer, it just better damn well be right.

I am one of the very few in my class that doesn't touch a caculator for doing math,i can either do it quicker in my head or on the a piece of paper.It dont matter if i just learned it 5 minutes ago or two years ago.What surprises me is how many 16-18 year olds complain about not having money or anything,but they won't get a job.I'm 16 going to be 17 i dont got a job at the moment for the reason that town is 22 miles away and i can't get my Lic. till April,but I do the finish work on the house while my dad is at work that6s how i make money at this point for paying for my truck..
