I was looking at some pictures of snopw chains on R/C's. It reminded me of my old radio shack golden arrow.

A 7.2 volt with a 540 motor.

Anyhow I was broke, and my tires were bald. I decided to take them off the rims, and push tacks thourh the backside of the tire.

It looked great, my rear tires had these awesome spikes. The head of the takcs was huge I thought "this will be great"

First thing i did was set it down on some hard dirt and hit the throttle.

Second thing I did was pull tacks out of my jeans, and rub my face. It had so much torque at the tires, the tacks pulled right through the thin worn out tires. About 50 projectiles per tire i my face lol.

I had no idea the danger. The thought of the tacks pulling out of the tires wasn't even a consideration

Thats pretty good. My stupidest moment EVER was when I tried to make a rocket engine by filling an empty CO2 shell from a pellet gun with smokeless shotgun shell powder.

Wow Scottm LOL, those well we had a different purpose for putting h e powerder in the co2 shells lol. I hope you were Faaar away wgen it "launched" lol

No, it gets stupider. It didn't go off, so I PICKED IT UP.

An ember fell in, and it went BANG in my hand. My luckiest moment ever was the fact that it didn't burst, but shot out of my hand like the rocket that I wanted in the first place. That was 25 years ago, and I still think about it probably every month.

DUDE, WTF where you thinking Scott...HAHA. We use to makes some uuuhh homemade explosives with empty 12 gram CO2 bottles and various grades of gun powder and cannon fuse form the local gun store. Don't try that @ home please kiddies. Nice boom booms, actually we use to make explosive devices that would have landed our ass's in jail for 10+ years if we where 18 and got caught. Ya gotta love it when you live through the crazy chit you did as a kid with all your body parts intact. Your a lucky SOB to still have your fingers in that hand.

Lykan - Ouch dude, I'm feeling for ya on that one. Kuddos for trying I guess.

I've had to many bad RC moments when I was a kid to just pic one. My first Touring car was probably the worse. It was a Cox .049 with the zip pull start (remember those?). It was just broken in and I hit a curb, it lost control and went out into 4 lanes of traffic....TOTAL CARNAGE.

Now that one would have been cool!

My stupidiest RC molment was the night I got my first RC ever a RS4 RTR3. I was quick to get out and play with it so I glued the tires look over the instructions on engine breakin, and the only thing left was my antenna so I grabbed the supplied tube and put it into place. So I follow the breakin process, and it was time to open this puppy on the street and see what she had (.15FE lmao about it now!). Well it got 20 feet away and i lost control it went wot into a curp, jumped it and landed in those prickly type shrubs. I broke the hell out of the front end and had to buy like $50 worth of replacement parts because the were alll lost in the bush. The funny part was when I installed the antenna it was just the antenna tube!!! The actual antenna was still wound up neatly inside the radio case like it comes from the factory. Can you say the lights are on but nobodies home?

My stupidest R/C moment would have to be not testing the batteries in the Monster Beetle.the beetle lost control at full throttle, hit a curb and got launched going end over end.cracked the body right up to the front windsheild and a body mount, fixed it with some Plastic Glue.

Thanks for the laugh. It is a bright spot in an otherwise poopy day for me.

Not sure if you've heard about them but they are called "Bird Bombs." They are put into a gun and lanuched into the air to scare away birds from crops, trees, yards, etc. WEll me and my dad bought a box of 100 and just drille dnad glued fuses in. Oh yes, these are about a 1/4 stick od dynamite as the old M-180s were. I've got video tape of them if ic an ever get them to digital I'll be more than happy to post. Off topic but all the explosive talk got me turn on, hahaha. Must go spank it to the hiroshima video now :hump:
