my spur gear has always had a slight wobble

Has your slipper been maintained properly?

Mine had a wobble when it was brand new. It was the one that came with the truck. I never had a problem with it, and have since seen a few others that were the same. Two replacement spurs did not wobble. It's a slight warp that has no effect on the running of the car.

i tis just a couple of mm, and the truck is still brand new (6 or 8 tanks). I appreciate teh confirmation.

i have had a maxx for quit some time and my spur has been changed from 72 to 66 and it still wobbles and it doesn't bother me nun

Mine did too, but I started to play with it and I noticed that it could be straightened. Try to find the spot it is most out and push it the other way, lightly. Keep turning it and push on it until you have hardly any wobble left. It will stay straight until you bump it back out. It seems it is not the plastic that is wobbly, but how it is sitting on the shaft and making contact with the slipper clutch pins.

thanks for the advice on the pegs i put some new ones in and now it has barely and wobble !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! who knew

if i am not mistaken the RRP slipper replacement will totally eliminate the woddle cause it does just that otally eliminates all stock hardware .friction pegs ,pads everything even the spur ,i havent tried it but i did a thread along time ago about my rustler and thats what everytone told me to do upgrade to the RRP setup

Maybe mine is out of whack, but I have the RRP spur/slipper set-up on my T-Maxx and it wobbles. In no way does it hinder the performance, but definately wobbles.

Mr T

I still had a little wobble with the rrp setup. I think it is because the spring has an uneven surface pressin against the pads, so it makes it wobble slightly.

Slightly off topic, but related. What makes the T-Maxx chatter when starting from a stop? Is it the slipper clutch with pegs set up or is the actual clutch on the engine driveshaft? Is there a cure? My Revo is butter smooth on start up and the T-Maxx always looks so sickly when it first tries to move.

That chatter is caused by the internal transmission clutch for reverse. Do the foc and that will go away, and your maxx will launch much better too.

Thanks for the info. Unfortunately the T-Maxx is mainly for my wife and trust me, she needs the reverse...
