Well don't hate on clones but I have been wanting a 1/5 scale for years and I finally felt KM's quality was at a point where it made sense to pull the trigger. I spent some time at our sister site LSF and did my research and with the money that I have saved I can put it towards upgrades and what not. I got the KM TM1000 from DANln4 on ebay 30.5cc 2 speed truck and I have taken it completely apart and inspected it to make sure all screws where tight, oiled the diff, rebuilt shocks, etc. After putting 2 tanks through it this thing is an amazing RC experience throwing that much weight around with that much HP makes my LST2 look like 1/18 scale:D

Out of the box

It came with an SS style pipe but Dan is now shipping them with these and they are loud and proud:)

Say what you will this thing is awsome:)

That thing is huge! I've always wanted a 5th scale, just way too much money for an r/c car.

yeah I thought that too but I easily have $800 into my Wraith so it isn't that much of a stretch:) sounds like addictive behavior

That thing is sexy, the lid is too bulky IMO, as I think that of the HPI baja as well, other than that, sweetness & grats on the upscale

Congrats! Get some video. I will get a clone some day too. No point in paying an outrageous price for a hpi when these are almost exactly the same and have all the same hop ups.

Congrats on the new purchase. I've been running regular scale: 10th and 8th scale the entire time I've been in the hobby until this year. Running a 5th scale is a whole nother world as you know. That pipe does make the difference and keep up posted on how you make out with more tanks in it.

3rd tank this morning and I think that 2nd gear comes in too early but that can be adjusted easily, overall very happy if the weather hold out I am heading to the track:)

congrats shes a beaut.. i love the fatty pipe looks amazing.

Let us know how the 2 speed holds up. I really want to get one for my 5B, but the BSW $300+ one is a bit high for something I kind of want... $130 on the other hand is easier to swallow. lol Only downside is buying replacement parts for that two speed... KM 2 speed

Good looking rig!

Congrats man! After going large scale, my other RC's just didn't seem the same, and didn't get much run time. And I too would like to know how it holds up over time, especially the 2 speed as well. Looks like it is running good that early on, should get stronger over the next few tanks.

Yeah i was skeptical about the 2 speed but there are 3 dif people at lsf that have 6 month into running them with no issues. I have heard the one way bearing isn't that great but it is cheap to upgrade $10. Got rained out this afternoon but i sure like not worrying about wether it will start like nitro.

Those KM clones are very tempting,I would love to get a 5th scale, but over $1000 jut aint gonna work for me, but you can get the KM Baja Clone under $500, very very tempting. Let us know how she holds up, congrats on the new rig

A little update tonight I installed the Hitec 5755(Rhino) for steering and a Savox 1256TG for throttle and boy what a difference in response and power. I also installed the Full force Hi-flow fuel line kit and it went on really clean, for the price I couldn't have made something cleaner.

We will see how it does on its maiden tour on the track if it dries out like it is supposed to tomorrow but it is Oregon:)

I also have some stickers to apply cause I heard they make it go faster:)

Sooooo how is that trans holding up? Any problems keeping it tuned either? I remember my tmaxx would always shift into 2nd then stay in 2nd for ever, i hated it, is this anything like that or does it shift like it should everytime?

As far as tuning I haven't touched the needles since the first couple of tanks, the beauty of gassers:) Trans is holding up and shifting strong just finished off my second gallon today. haven't had any problems with it staying in second at all, I did however manage to crack up the back of the body today and also broke a front shock tower support(included in extra parts bag). I am suprised the parts didn't break sooner considering that I was hitting those jumps in 2nd gear which should be around 40-50 mph and yard saled a few times before it broke:)

It was so muddy I tore it down to clean it, really didn't take that long and I think I want to order some RPM arms for it anyway.

4 hours or so of jumping it and beating it and this is the only damage.. Bring on the TR shock supports.
