  1. Bashing
I'm new to rc and even newer to nitro. just bought a mmgt 3.0 w/ the .18 motor, followed the breakin procedure, and tuned it. it runs great but is a pain to get started when its cold, I'm priming the fuel just up to the carb, am i missing something?? possible air leak?? wrong glow plug??(med/hot) all input is apprieciated minus the newb hits although i can take a few if I'm being an idiot, lmk thx

I've got the same truck and it seems like the damn thing takes forty four pulls to start it lol. But as you get more and more through the gallon you'll get a more consistent start up.

I've recently had the same issue- cold starts- taking forever.. Found out that if I swap my battery in the STOCK AE Glow Plug Ignitor that came with the truck- the D-Cell, the first 4-5 time starting and restarting the truck- I have no problems. Then it seems the ignitor weakens out- fast- and doesn't want to start again... I guess I'm now looking for a rechargeable ignitor- and a good match for glow plug, med/hot. Any suggestions?

So a new set of D-Cell batteries for the Stock Ignitor- and I'm back up and running... What would cause the ignitor to become soo weak/ soo fast?

Ignitors eat alkalines. Get a rechargeable ignitor, and make sure you follow the charging instructions. They usually need 12-16 hours when they're new. Then an hour or two, every once in a while keeps them kickin'. Also try preheating your engine with a hair dryer. But I believe the ignitor is your main problem. As the old saying goes, first thing to do when your nitro won't start is change the glow plug. Next thing in line is what's driving your glow plug.:)
