Can anyone help me as to why my car seems to loose signal to the control after just a short distance.

I would try installing an antenna tube and put the antenna in it so it's pointing straight up at least 5 inches.

It’s there in yellow but I used a non gen sheath and it’s a bit thick also possibly some metal in it

remove antenna tube with posable metel in it.. Check esc bec that is a common factor of signal lose.get new antenna tube.. you can make a bec but you will need a servo rx plug and 4 AA batteries. you need to remove red wire or center wire on esc rx plug..

Another possibility is that the antenna wire is broken inside the insulation. The easiest fix is to replace the receiver.

you want the end of the 2.4ghz receiver anteana to be exposed, not in an antenna tube, to my understanding, as it can block the signal.

What yall think! This would cause signal loss after a few meters !?.

It's the old single wire antenna dsm system. At best, I'd get 50 yards out of it usually and that's if I didn't drive down in a hole, like a bowl at a skate park. Depending on the transmitter your using, if it's DSM2 compatible, you can get a DSM2 receiver that has a coaxial antenna with a pigtail, then you should get better range.

Just need some open space with nowt to hit his a bit quick lol I’m only learning go easy ?

That will do it!
I tore my rec. antenna up on my slash ,an it killed it ,so the antennas are a weak point if they get damaged ,I only tore
mine in half an it completely lost signal!

same thing happened in my recoil. now I use that receiver for rock crawling now since you are right on top of it anyway
