It's a Factory Team TC3 with extras I picked up on Ebay for $145 shipped!! It looks damn clean from the pics and I hope the description is acurate but I think I got a good deal on it considering they still sell new for $269. I know it's electric but all my local tracks are indoor and only run electric so this is what I'm going to drive. What does everybody think??

Electric tourings are fun to drive. What class? 19T? Mod? Brushless?

I'm not really sure yet. My local track runs all 3 so I guess it's whatever I can handle. I think I may start off in 19T since this is my first experince with racing and the car will be a little more controlable.

Hey Rex, Thats what I run at our local racetrack. 19T is a good combination of driving and tuning skills. I was surprised they're faster and handle better through the infield, being used to a nitro. That 1/2 pound makes a huge difference.

**TIP: Buy a "Pro" tweaked version 19T (like the Cameleon Pro), and get a good set of matched 3300 or 3600 cells for the "A" main, and you'll be in the same league as the fast guys.

I know very little about electric, so excuse the newbie question, but can you elaberate on this? what is the differance between a regular 19T, and a "Pro" tweaked version?

A "pro" version has the com cut, polorized springs and silver brushes already broken in, armature balanced and shimmed, and the dyno numbers written on a label. Its specificlaly for racing. They can be a few thousand RPMs higher than the same untuned motors @ 3 volts. The higher silver content in the brushes will cause more wear on com requiring more maintenance.

I bought a dyno and studied up on tuning. I like to tune my own motors, but so far still pretty new at it, and haven't really got any more out of the motors than the "pro" versions.

"pro" version = racing; untuned = bashing

IT'S HERE!!!!!

This thing is in great shape too!!! The diffs are a little tight and the steering needs some adjusting but other than that everything is smooth!!!

Can someone tell me what this is???

its a fake transponder.... supposed to be for lap counting when a real transponder is installed.

That is a mock up transponder for when you use a transponder from the track instead of a personal transponder. It is the same weight of ones provided by tracks using AMB lap counting systems.

The reason behind it is so that you can install it on your car and do the tweak settings before you get to the track. That way, the car will be balanced once the actual unit is installed.

Just noticed that there are rubber tires on it. That's good for outdoor but indoor tracks use foam. Make sure you redo the alignment, droop and ride height. Also, when using foams, make sure you true the tires to prevent traction roll. Traction compound is necessary indoors. I use the Niftec stuff. Just goop and let it dry for 5-8 minutes. No wiping is needed like with the TQ compound.

Just remember, that stuff doesn't make your tires sticky, it softens the rubber in the foam for more grip.

The alingment looks dead on. I took the whole thing apart and everything is in top notch shape. The diffs were a little tight and dry so I tore them down and re-assembled them. They're smooth as silk now!! The steering rack had a burr on it and was binding a bit so I cleaned that up too and it's smooth now! Other than those 2 minor things this thing is perfect! The only thing I'm not to sure about is the front shock tower. The guy has a rear one up front. He gave me the stock front one too but I was just wondering why he would do this?

All I'm waiting on now is the electronics, wheels, and a body. Makes me wish I hadn't sold off my electric stuff a few months ago but oh well. I had a V7.1 and a Reedy Ti 10x2 and a 7x2 for my RC10ls but sold that stuff to fund other projects. Does anybody have a gearing chart or anything like that? I need to order some pinions/spurs and was just wondering where I could find more info on it. I want to race but I may not always be able to get to the track.I'm going to pick up another 10x2 for playing and a 19T Pro for racing but I need gearing info.

i know on my car not to sure about others but the rear shock tower has more holes for more options to mount the shocks. so maybe that why he used the rear up front.

Well it's up and running!! I picked up an LRP AI bullet ESC and a Reedy flashpoint 12x2 motor for now. I'm also using some 3000 stick packs I had bought for my starter box but haven't used yet. I need to get more control over the car before I can even atempt to race it so I'm gonna practice allot more. I don't want to be the guy who can't drive and wrecks into everybodies cars at the track.
At first I wasn't happy at all with the speed. It seemed very slow and the acceleration wasn't what I expected.I was using the stock brush's/springs and a 22T pinion with the stock 72t spur gear and it just wasn't fast at all. I ditched the stock brush's and eye lets for a set of Trinity 4455NT silver brush's without the terminals and swapped the stock springs to the Trinity purple firm ones. I also re shimmed the motor, advanced the timing a bit, ditched the bullet connectors and moved up to a 24T pinion. It moves pretty good now and breaks the tires loose!!!! It's raining outside now so I can't fully test it but I can already see a big difference just by running it back and forth through the house LOL!!
