if i JUST locked the REAR diff on my Savage coudl i still drive on pavement/grass or no?

i dont want to do the front, i know if i did the fornt id break the steering asap since the inside wheel would want to spin just as fast as the outside...no good.

just curious. my savage is only RWD right now anyways...

I locked the rear diff on my maxx and it made it do donuts so much easier and faster, it was fun to watch. Everyone that i spoke with said to lock my front diffs instead of the back ones because it actually helped steering...

well i know on 1:1 vehicles locking the front makes steering a biatch, and very hard on the steering components.

i searched this forum and it said locking the rears, if u go on 'high traction' places it will bend the drivetrain components.

think ill jus tput 100,000 wt oil, they said its just like a locker but still allows some slip. so ill do like 100,000 in the rear and maybe 5000 in the front.

Same thing on an rc, the front tires will want to slide instead of turn.

do less bias in th efron and more in the rear.....when you start doing this look at the differences between the buggy diff fluids....I run 5-9-2 or 5-7-1 in mine...you want the frontto pull more...it will give you more control and less ass sliding......do the locker in the front...if you put it in the rear you are forcing it to tear up drive lines...the rear wheels don't turn....your outside wheel wants to turnmore than the inside wheel if you can't redirect that force it gets directed into your driveline....besides your turning radius will suck ass on high traction surfaces if you lock the rear.....unless you just want fast straight line acceleration and power lock th efront if any.....or run heavier diff fluids...or use the redneck engineered way and stick a little silly putty in the spider gears........but get a new set when your tired of it instead of trying to clean it off
