Hey guys, today I went racing, and the first heat was good until...... Well...... the engine expanded to much from the heat and the engine shut off. In other words to understand, the engine seazed. After the engine cooled down for 20 min, I was able to run the car again because all the expanded parts re-tracted back to normal form. The whole reason for this is I wanted to win the judging for best body that had to be run in the race. I had one whole where the cylinder head sticks out and that was it. I wanted the car to look really good, the only thing is my heat got moved up to first of the day, I had no time to cut it out. That is the result of it all.
Make a note!!!!!
Cut the holes and run safe, rather than have it look really good.

THAT BLOWS! errrr, I mean doesn't blow.... well, you get the point.

I had a rough day with my TC today too! Bent and scraped the body mounts, engine head, handle, bumper, parts of the upper deck and the outside edges of 2 BRAND NEW UFRA foams! All because I was running with no lid at all! And I know better!

I just like the way the body makes such a dramatic impact on handling and keeping it stuck to the ground. Oh, and most importantly, PROTECTED! lol

I never run without a body just for that reason. I also make sure I have enough cooling holes, if you do it carefuly and tactfully it really does not affect the appearance.

I hate driving with my body on...I have a Hummer Malitary one.Its a pain to take off everytime i stall out or run out of fuel....It has lots of air holes..The windshields are drilled out,the square vent on the hood is cut out and theres screen in it, and the little oval things on the front are cut out and also have screen on them.Never runs hot..

I also run around parking lots all the time without my body. Thankfully I've never hit anything. I almost flipped once but somehow was able to get the right wheel back on the ground before it went over.

I currently have 1/2 half the front windshield cut out nothing else. Do you guys recommend cutting out the side window as well? I'm running the 300M body that came with my LD3.

Isn't the stock ld3 body a 330M not to be rude or anything. I have heard that it is best to do the normal front windsheld vent hole and if you are running a four door like you are to cut the rear door window nearest the window because the same factor that works when you spit out the window and it flies back in at your rear passenger works with this method of body vents.
