I had my tmaxx 4908 running this weekend and on my second tank the engine started to run "lean" hitting temps af 260-270! I shut it down, let it cool, and richened it then ran it. I had to to continue richening up to the point where it would run poorly but it gave good temps. It wasn't until I got home and performed after run maintenecne that I found the split exhaust coupler hose. Could this cause the motor to run lean because of poor backpressure feeding the engine? I'm still trying to perfect the art of nitro tuning ;) Any input is welcome.

Well Dude 260-270 is where the 3.3 likes to run I wouldnt worry until it got to around 290. The split exhaust coupler could very well have caused a drop in pressure to the fuel tank
