Hi All!

I recently bought a Kyosho Blizzard 2.0 (last week) and have used it about four times without any issues. However, I'm now facing a problem that I could really use some help with.

Background:

Last night, I took out the battery from the car and charged it. I also removed the batteries from the controller and placed those on the charger as well. Everything worked perfectly when I shut everything down for the night.

However, the next morning, when I tried to use the car, it wouldn’t operate at all.

What I’ve Tried:

I referred to the manual to check for potential binding issues between the controller and the car. I followed the binding process as instructed, but I wasn't able to get the car working.

The receiver is Kyosho KR-632.
The transmitter is KT431S.

For reference, here are the manuals I used:

Blizzard 2.0 Manual
KT431S Controller Manual

Current Issue:

When I opened up the box containing the wiring and the receiver, I noticed a steady, slow flashing light. This leads me to believe the battery is still functioning, but the issue likely lies with the transmitter. When I attempt to rebind, the light on the receiver blinks rapidly, but it doesn’t seem to pair with the transmitter.

Help Wanted:

I’m looking for advice or insight into this issue. Does this sound like a problem with the transmitter, receiver, or something else entirely? Are there any diagnostic steps I can take to further investigate?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance for your help!

Was the receiver wet at all? If so, pop it open and shoot some WD40 in there and wipe it dry. It may help if it is a moisture issue. But water can also fry Rx's pretty quickly.

Try unplugging the ESC and Servo from the Rx and try again. Servo's are susceptible to water damage too, and having a problematic part connected to the Rx can cause issues.

Some radios have trouble binding if too close to the Rx. Step back and try again.

And welcome to RCT! AWESOME RC!

Thanks for the quick reply. I will try those couple ideas when I get back to it this evening. Oddly enough we have had very little moisture and as fate has it the first snow fell yesterday! o_O

Yeah, we got snow here for a change, but my kid does all the driving, and I live vicariously through him. But he won't be back til next weekend. I hope it lasts. I see some nice jumps out there if it gets packed down good.

Ok so I was able to get a moment to test unplugging the servo and motors. When everything is unplugged the receiver does not blink at all even if the binding plug is inserted. I am wondering if the slow blinking light I am seeing is some sort of error with one of the parts.

If it still won't bind, it might be a bad receiver.

But make absolutely sure you are following the bind procedure correctly. Watch a video. That often explains things better.

Also, after binding, you might need to recalibrate your ESC. There are vids for that as well.

If you could make a video of what it's doing, you can pop that up on YT and post the link to it here. That might help us spot a problem.

I have overlooked the painfully ridiculous before so I'll just ask, pg 5 says there are power switches on the truck itself I think???
Have you verified all are on and working?

I'm a big Kyosho fan and I love your truck!!!
