hey, i have heard alot about the K&N airfilters that they are really good. i have the t-maxx with a 24.7 motor in it and it looks kinda small but i know of other people at my LHS that have them on their trucks and they say that they run great. i was just wondering if anybody else has heard anything about them.

The guase filters are too thin and pourus to keep small microns of dust out of your motor. Yeah they work great on a car where a spec of dust means nothing, but a spec of dust to your scale nitro motor is like dropping a 17mm nut into your cars motor.....

I'm staying with oiled foam filters with an outerwear. But, thats just me.

Those filters were never intended for use on R/C. Just contact K&N and they will tell you that themselves. As Christian said "dont do it man"

Yeah, they're really full scale crank case breathers for 1:1 cars. The holes in the guaze are WAY to big to trap any small partcles of dirt. Rael cool for show, but very bad for normal uses.

Use a Motor Saver with an outside foam cover. I'd prefer the outside foam covered the front too but they don't. That is how my 1/8 buggy (mugen) is. The motor saver exsposes the front of the inner foam and if covered there would be even more protection. A little harder for them to manufacture but better.

alright then. so the K&N filters suck ass for normal uses. i right now have the one that comes with the XTM .21 conversion kit. it is pretty big and it seems like it is working pretty good.
