i just got home from racing him and yeah it kicked my ass but i was so close, my stock t-maxx was right behind not too far, when i saw that thing i though it was gonna really really kick my ass bad, but it wasn't that bad, the guy with the savage was "man that thing its quick as hell"
just though i share.
the only problem its that my maxx keeps overheating, i got temps of 297*, i don't know why. i'm at hsn 4 turns and flush on the lsn.???? piss me off.
Oz.

it's all good man keep moddin you'll kick his as$. oh and I don't really recall what stock HSN is set at so I can't compare but I'd say richen it no matter. When it comes to tuning I figre it don't matter if it's 4 turns or 14 turns, if it's hot turn it again. know what I mean?

That's the problem. You have to keep modding the T-Maxx to try and beat a stock Savage.

I don't have any experience with a savage but from everything I've read it seems like Maxx's aren't a good comparison to a Savage to begin with. I'm not to sure there's even anything out there to reasonably compare a Maxx too. Aren't most MT's 1/8s anyways compared to a tmaxx's 1/10 scale?

Well its kinda the same as camparing a stock Eclipse to a stock Vette. Of course the Vette is going to win because of the bigger engine (Just like the savage has a bigger engine) a fair race would be a stock tmaxx with a savage with a 2.5 motor in it, then see who wins.

... and off cause by that you must have forgotten to mention to add weight to the T-maxx because the stock savage is a lot heavier stock...

Yup. Much more equal.

I have driven both the T-maxx with a Sirio .18 in it and it compares/compete much like the S-25 equipped Savage 25.

But then there's handling and durability which has a lot to say, but this another discussion (not suited for this thread) :)

Go order the Losi LST and I'll bet you beat the Savage then. Plus, it will cost you less to simply buy the LST and leave it stock than it will to fix up the Maxx to a point where it will handily compete with 1/8 trucks. Think about it, you gotta get the conversion kit, engine, tranny and diff parts, CVD's, etc., etc.

or just buy my Supermaxx in the forsale section and own everything on the track :)

:OT: now that's what I call a plug

yeah, the money you need to spend fixing up a maxx is crazy. A T-maxx was my first r/c via a present. Believe me if I knew better and had bought a truck myself I probably would've bought a savage. The thing is.. there's so much aftermarket out there for the maxx (cuz they need it, lol) that theres like no limitation to what you can do... add in a couple custom made or modded parts and you endup with a totally custom truck. looking over at my project maxx I see 10 stock parts... 6 rod ends and 4 servo mounts.
