I picked up a new Mammoth today at the suggestion of the manager of the LHS. I am curious if anyone else has come up with any preferred upgrades or adjustments they would care to share. I'm most concerned with the suspension. The stock springs feel a bit weak. Has anyone tried jumping one of these yet? Thanks for the help.

Rob

No, I'm just setting it up. I forgot to charge my new glow driver so I'll have to wait until tomorrow morning to fire it up. It looks pretty good so far. I saw one running at the shop before I bought mine.

Keep me posted on what u think of this truck. I want to buy one and need info from people who have one. Thanx

I just read the article in RC Action (I think) and the way they describe it it sounds like a really stable high-speed truck for a track or moderate terrain as opposed to a high-flying jumper, at least the way it is set up stock. I was going to buy a Savage .25 but since my LHS let me have this for $310. I couldn't pass it up.

I'll let you know.

I don't know if he has any more. I am considering selling mine though. It is not what I expected, but then again I am used to T Maxx's.

Good: It is really big and moves fast. The 24.7 broke in easily and starts on the 1st pull. Build quality is very good and many of the parts come from the factory in aluminum (shock towers, shocks, steering bellcranks) plus it has massive turnbuckles and metal driveshafts and axles.

Bad: The factory suspension is kind of soft, compared to my Maxx. Plus it sits relatively low. The long wheel base makes it stable but it doesn't turn as quick as the Maxx. It is probably an awesome truck if you have a fast track or place you can open it up. I'm more into jumping and really rough terrain.

Let me know if you want a deal on mine...

moparrob- If u are serious about getting rid of it PM me back. I just sent u one.

Can you please let me know the name and Number of that LHS that sold the truck to you for $310?

They are selling them for $370. The manager gave me a break since I send them alot of business. That's not their regular price though.

PM me if you are interested in mine.

moparrob- Thanx and sorry I didn't get back to u sooner. I won't be able to get the Mammoth yet until a couple more months. Thanx anyway.

No problem. I ended up taking it back to the LHS and they agreed to exchange it for a Savage 25:cheerful:

So, I'm off to a new start...

Glad to hear u made out and got what u really wanted.

It's nice to know that there are hobby stores out there that are that comprimising. You must throw a ton of business at them. I'm lucky if I can get the guy behind the counter to turn around and pull a part off the wall. Thats after spending $1500 in his store.

Ass.

Now I try to buy everything I can at their store. I'll only go on ebay if they are out of stock.
