Does anyone here work at a hobby shop?

If you were given the chance to take a job at one would you?

Iam asking this because iam thinking of my first job to be a a hobby shop. I know enough and Iam sure I know more than some of the people that work at my lhs. I think it would be a good job disscount parts, doing something you enjoy, would have a good atmosphere (all the R/C stuff). I jsut think that it would be a cool job.

A job is great when u have fun doing it. So if u are going to enjoy it, go for it. If I had time for a second job I'd love to do it. Especially for the discount on the parts. Which by the way, u can hook us up. :D

I help out when its real nutty at the hobby shop. Maybe someday Ill know enough about ALL the cars/trucks/mt's/st's/planes/helis/rockets/boats to be able to carry on and help anyone there.

In the meantime, I just think I'm cool when I find them a part they didnt know existed hehehe

Hey now trying to take the job your mom suggested I do??????????? J/K:fro:

anyway that would be a cool job

but think of the kinda shop that would hire josh..........::ahem:

Ya that would be bad they would go out of buissness in like 3 days. But iam thinking of it.

I was offered a job at my LHS, maybe it's the fact that I've dropped thousands of dollars there, or maybe its that when someone has questions and the staff is too busy, I answer them. Or maybe it's the fact that I know more about cars/ trucks then the staff does. Hey, not bashing them, they are great, I love their service, just that they are mainly heli and plane R/Cers. They need someone like me, but I live too far away.

Meh, I know my fair share too, with 7 years in the hobby, and I'm still only 16. I would take it no questions asked if they were closer, but its not like I'm complaining about my current job. I sell phones, home phones and cell phones, I love it, pay is decent, and I do nothing - literally... lol.

I say take it, you will learn a lot from just he customers who come in and tell you stories.

Cool well i look into getting a job at my lhs but well see.

I'd take a job at a hobby shop, i know enough...kinda, well if you forget that i dunno the names for half of the parts that make up a car. I just know what they look like...lol

discounts!

YEA same here same here thats my problem to thats why iam knda of leanng toward something else.

Yeah when i had to call up ofna to order a part, i had to look up the name of it...i'm so pathetic....but i can fix r/c's pretty good, i like working on them. Just gimme the part and i'll install it, but don't ask me the name of it...lol

hey we have alot in common(not the arsehole part)

kornkid - my first job was at my local hobby shop. i was 15. it was great for them, as i spent most of my check there, and great for me, as i got to hang out in my favorite place. at the time i was much more interested in static models and RC planes, but i would still build the RC10L's that everyone bought as well as all the USA1's we would sell. It was a great experience for me at that age.

Cool, If I did get a job there I am sure thats were pretty much all of my paycheck would go.
