So I'm a day away from busting out my 1/8 Kyosho Neo Inferno 3.0 Nitro and I want to set it up as a racer.

I've watched several videos of people who did just that and said that the first thing they had to do was upgrade the wheels and tires because the wheels are spoked and dirt jammed up in the spokes and the tires were not ideal for racing.

I've been watching interviews from all the big names in racing and the names I keep hearing are JConcepts and Schumacher.

Which are the best?

I want it to be set up as an entry level racer to get me acquainted with the sport and the mechanics of the car.

Yea. RTR tire wise on that, more for bashing or very loamy dirt. Almost looks like a MX tire like the Badlands. Wheels, yea spoke wheels aren't good because of dirt build up. Most if not all people use regular mono wheels.

To my knowledge Schumacher only does 1/10 carpet tires/wheels so that's that. Unless they do 1/8 dirt stuff, not sure might have to check up on that.
Jconcepts is really good and top notch. ProMotion, HotRace, TZO and others are pretty good. Tons of my race buddies run for ProMotion and they are really nice tires. Nice grip and long lasting too.
ProLine is okay, me personally I really don't have good luck with some of their products. Everyone has different opinions and experiences.

Tires ideally depend on what the track is, and how the conditions are. Best bet is to speak to the track/race director and/or the racers there to see what they run as each track especially if its dirt is all different in most cases.

Alright thank you, this gives me an excuse to head to the track as soon as I can. It should be a decent little starter race buggy until I learn the mechanics of racing

I've been using Jconcept wheels on my ebuggy and etruggy. I run both Pro Line and Jconcepts tires but wouldn't be opposed to trying one of the other brands.
