Ok, Wedsnday surely sucked a big amount of ass. If you have a RC10... You'll know what I'm talking about.

The battery mount from hell. Well... First the story....

I was kickin some sweet high speeds and testing my newest toe adjustments and... A bank came out of nowhere... Fine fine, I wanted to jump.. It did a flip and I watched the batteries go flying.... Next thing I know I'm chasing the friggin` thing, and it was going QUICK. It runs under a fence that it was more than an inch tooo tall for, thank god for bendable bodies.. Takes off across the road and hits one of the ONLY snow piles around.. It went flying at full speed to about 10-12 feet into the air, right towards a large sized window. Thank god it landed on it's top. About two inches from the side of the house, and the friggin` window. Full speed, on it's top, finally got to the dang thing, killed it and ran back to the porch. Thank god they didn't see it happen.

Result, one dead flower. Broken battery holder (happened a little while after) a few poped ball caps, and one very pissed RC10 driver.

Ok, now...

Any ideas how I can modify this problem? I'm not into this whole trying to catch the thing. It has a throttle return spring, which I think somehow, the servo just has more power than the spring.... And how can I keep the damned batteries from flying.. I had three friggin` wire ties on it.. Still flew off into outer space.

I'm sick of the chasing bit the spring doesn't help in the least, it just takes a little longer for it to hit full throttle.

One last thing.. That was some sick air man. All I know I was about 20 feet away and I was staring up at the bottom of the chassis. :D Still that window looked more expensive than I would want to pay for it. ehehe

ok your talking about a gt, you kept saying rc10 and the batteries flew out and I was trying to figure out why it didnt just stop. What I did on mine was put 2 zip ties on both side going opposite directions. Are you using a hump pack? I you are the the top cell should hold it in place pretty well. Also use good grade zip ties and the widest ones you can so they will hold up better. there really arent very many options for the GT's but I think Christan just got a new battery holder for his XXXNT that is really trick and I have been thinking about trying to modify one for my GT.

I need too.. That's a pain chasing the thing at prolly 40mph...

O and as far as the return spring goes just ditch it, they are just junk anyhow, you could get oyu a fail safe but it wouldnt do anything in a case where your battery came completley disconected, only if it runs out of power or you exceed your TX's distance. On mine I hard wired the RX pack to the switch and ran 2 wires off the solder joint to 2 bolts mounted on lexan to use as charging posts. The other day my battery also flew off and the only thing that kept it together was the wire being hardwired.

Heres a pic of the charging posts............

I have to agree on the return springs. I thought they were nessacary till backspur showed me they are worhtless by reving my engine then turning off the TX. They are a joke they don't have the nads to pull it back wether the tx or rx is off. I do recommend a Failsafe I started using one after my last run away was going full speed at a moving old lady in a buick. You are gonna have to secure that batter down one way or another though. X

The spring that you guy used are not strong enought to pull the servo back to neutal position. I use a O-ring for a throttle return spring(Slide Carb) and it works better because its on the carb, not the servo horn. I use to have a normal spring, but I fine it safer to put on on the carb in case the linkage come off. However the fail safe is useless with out power supply to the servo, I have both and made sure both are working at all times.
