guyz I'm in germany and kinda new so can you plz help me as i wanted to buy a motor for my tlr 8ight-xe and was wondering if the neu castle motors on ebay are the same as castle creation or not

also plz help me making a good electric build within 300 usd if possible

1-motor options i found on ebay are a spektrum 4070 removed from Arma trucks for like 50 usd with shipping will be 65 usd , i found it new for like 100
and neu castle 1515 for 65 usd with shipping

for the servo i found a spektrum s652 for like 30 usd with shipping also ( removed from arma ) i found it new for like 50 usd
for the transmitter and receiver dx3 with 6110 receiver for like 80 with shipping , ( removed from arma ) , i found the new dx3 with 315 reciver for 100 usd and if the 6110 receiver alone thats another 100
for the ESC , i have my old VESC from an old trampa skate board i guess i can use it , what do u think ?

They are designed by Steve neu and built and distributed by castle creations. I did a quick search and that comes directly from castle creations website

I did the same search but i dont know if those ebay sellers are legit or fake .
they have thousands of sells but one of them , the seller who writes in blue was mentioned fake here in some post
i really dont know wat to do

if some 1 said seller is selling fake then that sealer should be a NOT buying.. not sure how paypal works in Germany but in use if you buy a fake item then 99% of the time you get a refund just pay goods n services only not friends n fam.

The ESC isnt going to work. Get a Castle Mamba Monster 2.

I dont think those motors are fake. I think they are exact clones. At least thats my initial impression of the one I bought. That being said I havent run it yet but I own/have owned 3 or 4 of the real ones. If I hadnt paid $68 dollars for it just to get one to check out for myself and you had just handed it to me I would have thought it was the real deal which is why I think they are just cloning Castles original design. The newer models are a different shade of green and come with all black wires but the old ones looked and felt exactly like this one... For $68 bucks I dont think you can go to wrong here. Hell they even cloned the Castle Creations writing on the wires.

It looks so good and I'm really waiting for u to test it ,
Do you know how it will compare to a Spektrum Firma 4074 2050kV Brushless removed from arma , both have the same price by the way
why do u think the VESC from trampa will not work ? , its open source by the way and you can edit every thing on it
do you mean this motors are locked to the same company ESC Brands

I dont have any current projects going on to use this in so I have no idea when Ill get around to actually using it. The Firma motors are ok too (Not a fan of their ESCs although I've owned worse) but the Castle 1515 has pretty much been the king of 1/8 scale 6S motors for at least the last 15+ years. That is of course if its really is an exact clone and made with the same quality as the original 1515s. Either way you go on the motor you'll probably be fine,e specially given how cheap the price is. The Firma at least is a known quanity in that its an original although you're not going to have a warranty either way.

Even if you can code all of the proper RC ESC settings you would want in to a VESC controller, the Amperage rating is only 100A continuous which is not enough for a 1515 on 6S. Typical 1/8 scale ESCs are generally rated 150-300A continuous so my assumption is that it likely will not be suitable. ESCs and motors are not brand locked.

Well, Tekin is pretty much the best brand you can buy when it comes to electronics so $130 for a NEW T8 motor is a good buy however that particular motor you chose to buy isnt a proper motor for a Losi 8ight. Its too low KV imo and its technically a truggy motor. Not that you can't put in your 8ight and run it just fine, Its just not technically a proper motor just so you're aware. For bashing purposes it wont matter much though.

Also imo, if you're gonna buy a top shelf motor I wouldnt pair it with a budget brand ESC. Yes you can pair it with a Hobbywing but to me thats a bit like dropping a 454 procharged engine in your muscle car and then running a fuel injection system from a ford escort in it. I would pair it with the RX8 ESC from Tekin or if you can't find that then Id pair it with a Castle Creations Mamba Monster X ESC.

Ok bro now you just made me ready to spend more and more
now by a chance i just found a mamba monster x esc combo with 2028 8s but 800 kv and through an offer for a ebay dealer for a 340 usd and of course with shipping and vat , it will be like 420 usd
the teken motor with 1350 kv and the xr8 plus 6s with shipping and vat would cost me like 330 usd
so its a 90 usd diff but an entirley diff system , not super fast but crazy torque , I guess it will be crazy as much as breakin my tlr :)
plz tell me what to do as I'm feeling like I'm acting as a kid in a candy store

The 800kv motor is a 1/5 scale motor and youd have to have a custom or after market motor mount to even mount it. Since you already spent the money on the Tekin motor just look for an RX8 or a Mamba Monster X ESC. Not the Mamba Monster X 8S but just a regular Mamba Monster X. You can make up for the low KV by using a bigger pinion.

I didnt spend on the t8 gen3 yet , and even if i had bought it i would easily returned it and lose 10 usd for the return :)
after market mount is for like 20 for a kraton 8s used one so its only two new holes on that aluminum chassis of my beloved 8ight-xe
what do u think we still has option and I'm acting greedy now 😂🤩
but most important the ebay seller gave me only one day to decide on his combo deal or lose it

I wouldnt put 1/5 scale parts in an 1/8 scale buggy personally. Its going to perform like crap compared to a proper 1/8 scale electronics combo. I would look for a Tekin 4030 series motor somewhere around 1700-1900kv and an RX8 ESC or Id Look at a Castle 15XX series motor around the same KV range and a Mamba Monster X ESC. You could also mix and match the motors and ESCs for example you could go with a Castel ESC and Tekin motor and visa versa. You could laos use a Mamba Monster 2 ESC but youd loose the ability to run sensored and youd loose the datalogging capability but those are both just nice to have features, not necessities.

If you're wanting to go crazy fast with your buggy and just bash it then Go for the Castle 1515 2200kv motor with the Mamba Monster X ESC and run it on 6S. The other set ups are proper 4S buggy set ups. Well technically you can run the 1700kv on 5S but for racing they generally run 4S.

Hi there, castle told me if it has has black, red, white wires they are fakes. They use all 3 black wires on their motors. Hope this helps others.
They are designed by Steve neu and built and distributed by castle creations. I did a quick search and that comes directly from castle creations website
Yes, but the ones Steve neu is responsible for has all 3 black wires coming off the motors. The ones with the red, black, white wires are fake neu castle motors. That was directly from castle as well.
