those should be interchangeable as well but the 3.3 version parts are much stronger....I believe the tranny on the 3.3 is the same as the Revo now as well....
well I guess I'm mainly asking if I break something, and I find a good deal on a 3.3 part, I might as well get the 3.3part since it's supposed to be a better built (ofcourse after market is the way to go but it's a hypothetical question).
I see a lot of people getting rid of their 3.3 parts for cheap because they upgraded to better parts. I'm not loaded with money and I would not mind stocking up on parts that are often damaged. I hate going to the LHS after something breaks and paying the ridiculous MSRP prices.
So from what I understand, nearly everything is interchangeable? More input on this?
Edit added:
I guess I should have done my homework first hand .
I downloaded parts list for 2.5 and 3.3 T-Maxx and 99% of the parts are the same. Only difference was the Tuned exhaust and engine/engine parts. Every other part is the same.
I also believe if you are using the older 2.5 with the black tranny your center driveshafts will be different lengths than the 3.3 grey tranny. Hence the 3.3 maxx/revo trx steel driveshafts will not work which is a shame as that was prolly one of my best upgrades. No more twisted plastic u joints.
But I think those can just be moved onto the 2.5 chassis. Since the bulkheads and diffs are basically the same (diff is slightly diffrernt but interchangable) you can put 3.3 a arms, carriers, and axles on it but you would have to do all 4 corners at once. Though it is a good upgrade widening the stance, rpm a arms and carriers up front with stock 3.3/revo axles and the rpm rear a arm truetrack kit which has the axle carrier and it eliminates the rear toe links.
though upon doing the math you are looking at:
rpm front a arms 2 x $11
rpm rear a arm truetrack kit $45
Axles all around $40
So approx $100 for the full upgrade though you can prolly find this stuff cheaper on ebay.
