Hey I've been bombing arownd with my savage for a mouth or two now and I want to buy a on Road car. I want speed speed and more speed. I would also like to get a car that will use the same size mills as my savage anyone have any idea of what I want?

Where do you plan on running? Are you going to be at a track or mainly terrorizing parking lots? What kinds of cars do the hobby shops in your area stock? Remember, spare parts are a must and the easier you can get them, the happier you'll be. I assume you're talking nitro. I'm sure a lot of people will point to the HPI Nitro RS4 3, the AE Nitro TC3, or even the Yokomo GT-4. All are good cars. Just make sure you're getting something that will be easy to fix when you break it.

Of course if you're not worried about it, the Schumacher Nitro SST Fusion is supposed to be the fastest (80 mph) TC out there.

I want a 5'8"redhead...about 130lbs... nice rack...firm rear...and can wrap her legs behind her head....

The shagler - there are two ways of looking at this.

1. If you want a good reliable on road car - Go with the NTC3. It is the only car on the market, that can be used as a daily driver, yet still consistantly win races without any hop-ups. Parts for it are everywhere, and it handles like a dream. Will also stay together very well, and hit spees of about 55mph. This vehicle uses either a .15 or a .12 small block.

2. If you want top speed, and that is it, you can go two different ways. Fist, you mentioned that you wanted something that used the same mill as your savage, which is a .21 big-block. Unless you feel like forking over 1000,s of dollars to get a 1/8th scale, the Schumaker Fusion is really your only choice. The good news is that it is the fastest TC out there. it will hit speeds of over 80mph as claimed by the manufacturer. The downside, is that the car is imported from overseas and has very little support over here. This will cause problems, as you wait 2 weeks, for that 1 part you broke. The other choice is the new Traxxas 2.5 4-tec. This car is supposed to exceed 60mph, and has more support than the schumaker. Good luck!

BTW - I would recommend the NTC3 - you will be happier in the long run.

I've also heard great tings about the new Mugen MTX-3. But as Candyman and Nitro have mentioned, its also important to make sure your Local Hobby Shop supports the ride you choose.

Ask someof the guys there what they run. See what they recommend. In my experience, the shop guys will usually try to push you towards one of the cars they have in stock regardless of what might be best for you. BUT the advantage of that is they will most likely have the spare parts and knowledge of that car if you crash or have problems. As stated mny other places all overthis board...a good LHS with good support for your ride is worth its weight in gold.

Good luck.

rob - the mugen is an AWESOME car, one of the best! however, i was concerned about the belt drive, I've had belt drives in the past, and unless you are racing, or are on very groomed areas, belts strip like crazy.

I'd give my left nut for that new mtx-3 with the MT 12

Sorry guys, but I have to butt in. Belt drives every once in a while do strip, but to say that they strip like crazy is a little bit of an exageration. I got a belt driven car and I have had it for over a year. I have only stripped 2 belts and I run in some of the worst conditions. True that pebbles will mess up a belt driven car where a shaft drive you wont have to worry, but if you are driving in a place where there are pebbles, I would worry about stripping gears more. We strip more gears than we do belts because the hole in the chassis the exposes the flywheel allows rocks to get in. Belts somewhat protect the gear from getting pebbles in them.

Shaft drive is a good platform and so is belt. It is really up to you and what is available at your LHS. As far as racing and bashing, all the guys at the track use their cars for everyday bashing and racing. When the NTC3 and RS4 3 came out, I saw a lot of guys getting them, but now all those guys are getting Mugens MTX3 and staying away from the MSX3 (the shaft version).

My 1 cent.

i have a mtx-3 and 3 reflexs all the car are great but i use my reflexs the most but know I'm getting a trinity g4 pro can't wait:D :D :D

I have the NTC3, it is an awsome car, easy ass hell if you break a part to fix.... I like it, it is my first R/C car, i have learned a lot from it, and i have been able to tune it just right!!! I have had the thing apart just to clean it so many times i dont need the instructions any more. i just installed the 2 speed on it today actually, and it was simple..... really simple... but it hauls ass... just put it this way, i raced my bro (a chevy S-10 all hooked up!) my street is just about a 1/4 mile, put it this way, his ass made it to the line last!!!! they are quick once you get it going good. My NTC3 is the RTR.

I Just purchased the Mugen MTX-3 and currtently putting it together. I've seen it run against some of the other top road cars and have taken them. Which helped in my decision making. So u might want to check ur local tracks first and keep doing ur research before u make a decision.

I have been looking around too, I really want an on road but know nothong about em'. From waht I have seen and heard it really boils down to 2-3 different cars. 1. NTC3 2. Mugen MTX-3 3. HPI RS. Can anyone tell me what the differences are between the RS series cars from HPI, they seem pretty similar? And should I buy RTR or Kit? What about engines?

RS in HPI terms basically boils down to a nitro car where the PRO identifies an eletrick

OK, I have the RS4 3ss kit which isnt avaliable in a RTR(ready to run)setup, however there is a RS4 3RTR that doesn't have the 12R engine,2 speed tranny or the header and tuned pipe?it comes with a 15FE a plain manifold and I'm not to sure on the pipe? These are shaft driven cars where the origanal RS4 the RS4 2 and the RS4 2racer were all a 3 belt driven setup! Reviews are mixed, I love my shaft drive, some criticize them

I have the NTC3 kit, 2speed, 4wd, bump start, rear exhaust model. Love it!!! Handles like a dream! Great for bashing in the parking lot and half ass racing for me (I dont race sanctioned or even track races - Dont really have an interest in it)

The Fusion is next on my list. I know some people are skeptical about it being an import and parts support, BUT, I dont know of too many parts breaking on ANY on-road unless you do something nutty like hit a curb or a pole. Because of this, I would just order your standard maint. items like a slipper, extra set of gears, diff etc.. This way, if one does go, you will already have it.

Nobody carries a boatload of real Kyosho parts locally and I have had to wait for them to come in as well. If you have more than one nitro vehicle it works out fine. At least for me it does.

I say go with the fusion if you want all out balls, speed and craziness!
