My Revo 3.3 2055 throttle/ brk servo died. And I need to know do I replace it with the same or go with a new brand. I do not know who makes a better unit ? I did remove all the saveable parts from it .

Mine died on me on tank 6 right after break in while i was tuning my new 3.3. I just went with another stock one. They seem like they last a long time. Mine is a 5309 revo 3.3 2007 model. And the servo was the original.

My Revo is 6 months old and just came out to play from a 2 month nap .I will call Traxxas about maybe sending me a replacement . But getting to the servo numbers the steering servo is a 2070. Can both units be the same on the truck?

yeah, you can use the 2070 or 2075 for a throttle servo, even if you have the same servo number for steering. If that is what you are asking.

THanks for the help .I pick up a Futaba S3305 from my LHShop $28.oo

I've had my Revo 3.3 for about three weeks now, and have gone through as many 2055 throttle servos. This is no joke! I am on my 3rd. The first failed after two weeks. The second just short of a week after replacing the first one that failed. Each time I went to the hobby shop they called Traxxas and they sent a new one, at no charge to me.

When the first 2055 started failing, it was getting sluggish and causing the throttle to act unpredictably. For example, after applying full throttle, the servo would not respond well, and then suddenly kick into full throttle. It seemed to be getting jittery before it finally failed the next day after about a half tank. Neither the throttle nor breaking would work. It was completely dead.

The second 2055 failed about a week after replacing the first one. This time, the throttle direction failed all at once. However, the breaking direction continued to work very sluggishly as if there was not enough electrical power going to the servo. The steering servos continued to work perfectly, with good response. Switching the throttle servo to the steering channel showed no difference and continued to behave sluggishly in one direction and dead in the other.

I was told this last time at the hobby shop that if it happens again, Traxxas wants me to send the whole truck to them -- so they can (supposedly) make sure there is nothing wrong with the receiver (probably at my expense). I question that logic, however, since it is always the throttle servo failing and switching servos to other channels seems to make no difference. If there was a problem with the receiver, I would think that other servos would fail as well.

In any case, it is frustrating and I think if this 3rd 2055 fails (which it probably will), I will just have to eat it and spend the $30, or so, on a better servo with more needed torque to push up against that damn fail-safe spring.

Could the problem be that Traxxas simply screwed up and is using the wrong servo with insufficient torque to compensate for the throttle's fail-safe spring? It's a surprisingly very strong spring. Trying to manually push on it myself is difficult.

Try using the spring out of a pen. That has worked really well for me. I still use it despite putting in a slightly stronger steering servo.

Motor Oil Do you run your controler at 50/50 for the trottle and break or 70/30 . The day my rervo stopped was the first time I tryed 70/30 it lasted 1/2 tank of feul. I think the 50/50 setting lets the servo go back to zero /neutrel . And the 70 / 30 setting is well , my learning curve at this point . Because I can't blame it yet .

The Platinum Revo comes stock with a lighter spring. The Traxxas spring out of the on road 4 tech. I like the stiffer spring and use a JR Z9100S.Never had a problem again and its been over a year with weekly use.

50/50. When the throttle is in neutral -- i.e. hands off the controller, the servo applies no pressure whatsoever to the throttle rod.

Yes I agree, and the same go's for the 70/ 30 setting. When I install the new servo I'm going to test it with the linkage arms off to see if both settings have the same neutral point. I think it should, and the radio makes the change in the spand /frequency that gets sent to the receiver.
