I just finished reading the Instrauctions on breaking in the hyper 21 8 port and it asks for the mill to be heat cycled for 3 min then to be turned off. Let it cool then start up again and do that all over again.!!

WTF? Has anyone done this? I have the Non pull start Hyper 21 8 port engine.

Jon

I never really tried heat cycling. I don't think there would be a difference with the more common idle and gradual throttle break in. What's most important with break in is the proper seating of moving parts regardless of proceedure.

That's my thought as well. I was wondering if anyone did this to one of these mills. Thanks Diver!

I did it for my .25 force! It's a booger, but it will pay off in the long run when you get to use the engine for just one more tank. Truly, break-in is so imperative. Just my .02

Jon, just do it. I hope you aren't putting that 8 port in your MGT. New buggy I presume? :hi:

Heat cycling has worked well for the last two breakins that I have done, GS .25 and a Sirio .27. Both manufatures have recomended it.
It's hard not to become impatient, but well worth the wait.
