I wasn't sure where to post this but figured you Savage nuts would have a good idea.

I picked up an HPI big block F4.6 from h82luze as a backup engine for my Truggy. I've got an RC8 kit on the way and was wondering if the F4.6 would be an okay mill to drop in there while I get used to the RC8 and decide on a race .21 once the season starts. If not, I'll just pick up a roller Savage or similar chassis for it.

I guess as a basher engine it would be pretty good. I mean why not? It will fit and more power is better (with in reason). Do it to it let us know how it goes... ;-)

It'll do fine, those are very reliable little engines. Good torque down low, put a JP-2 or a 086 pipe on it to give it some more top speed in the buggy.
