can anyone help be out? i woud like to know what are charging procedures on hump pack batteries 6.0v and 7.2 v stick batteries. do you leave them plugged in all the time or not all the time . do you use the stock chargers they come with ? do you leave them on the charger all the time or drain them dead and then recharge and if so how

how do you make them last the longest and get the most power out of them
any help would be nice thank you

There are a few different methods to "pack maintenence". The methods only vary by the cell-type being charged. Here is the breakdown of the methods I use;

Nicad:
Discharge down to .9v a cell using a deans blackbox (or any pack discharger), followed by cell-equalization using a Trinity Realtime 2 tray.

Once the cells are equalized and the pack has cooled to room temperature, I charge at 4.5 amps (this is my preference; the pack maker will recommend a charge rate).

I store the packs discharged.

Nimh:
Pretty much the same as nicad; only I store them with a 40% charge.

Reciever packs, I discharge using a homemade discharger (this is a step I do, but you don't need to), then charge at .5a with a 4mv delta peak (this is with a Novak Millenium).

Transmitter packs, the same as the reciever packs, except I set the delta peak accordingly; 4mv for nimh, 12mv for nicad.

I have packs that are 5 years old that still hold a 100% charge. They're only 2400mah, but they still work great.

Now, Li-ion/LiPoly; no experience with those.
 
so if I have a pack that is rated at 1200mah and I have a charger that puts out 100mah i need to charge it for 12 hours to completely charge it?
