 Hello Guys I'm new to Nitro RC and was wondering if anyone could help me with changing my bulkheads on a Traxxas 2.5trx TMaxx w/ all black parts I am new to RC and have rebuilt the clutch but this just seems overwhelming(BTW I have exploded views) was hoping someone had a video or link to some step by step instructions for me please any help would be great I work 60-70 hrs a week and today is the only day i have to work on it for a while. Thanks in advance! :\

I don’t think you will find video or step by step instructions to show tmaxx Bulkhead replacements. They are the main components of the front and rear that everything suspension related attaches too.

It’s just a matter of removing everything needed to get too the bulks and laying it out in order. Then just reassemble in the correct order. They are 1 of the hardest parts to replace for the 1st time, but with a little practice they can be replaced pretty quickly once you know the in’s and out’s of the chassis and how it goes together the easiest.
The exploded views will help a lot, if you get stuck just ask for help.

Ok i have everything going good but now i need to replace the steering bellcranks well doing the change and need to know how to remove te chasis screws with the alum things on the bottom ao bellcrank arms/spacers?

This will give you an idea for the bulkheads. Not a Maxx but the right idea anyway. I can't find anything on the bellcrank but believe me it is quite a bit easier than the bulkheads

Thanks for the video and i removed entire front end so i can change both sides although its a used t axx and someone had one grey on front i am putting both new ones on(wish LHS said something about hardware they have pins with clips and pins that are threaded 1/4 and had all kinda striped and funky screws on the front assembly now I have to figure out what really belongs there and how long.(screws)(pins are obvious) then i am also confused as to what people in the articles I could find are talking about with the "be careful putting the differentials back in the direction you removed them.(isnt it just simly sliding it back onto the driveline into it? they have notches to prevent any problems correct?) sorry for the ten part questions

flop the casr over, take out all the front skidplate screws, (10 i think) flop it over and remove 1 screw on the steering turnbuckle, the remove 4 screws attaching frame to bulkhead. front end and car should now bw seperate pieces. now just start removing things starting with the screw at the diff side of axle. if you do it 1 side at a time, you will have easier time replacing each bulkhead

BTW I do relize they make a hardware kit but I'm not currently in the position to spend anymore money on my t maxx(new to hobby and wife is mad enough) at the moment so hopefully someone either would be willing to be nice enough to mail me a few(worth wishing) o have the specs/types of the screws and pins that I might be able to goto ace and get them for a decent price.

heard home depot sells all the small set screws for a rc car. have not tested theory, but worth a try. i managed toi get all the set screws at my local hardware shop. counter sunk was a different story. had to order those from fastenal

Do you know what screws and pins i would need to get rid of the eclip pins on there and what are the hex hardware specs for the front end assembly right off hand anyone. Thanks for all the help guys learning alot about my t maxx:) now if i can just find the short on the chasis that makes my tx/rx range 10-15 feet 2 mins at a time errr...

The e-clip pins are usually a better choice if your talking about the bulkhead/suspension arm pins. The stock pins have the little threaded end that screw into the bulkhead and a-arms. You will not find the pins you need at a hardware store for the suspension, they will need to be ordered on line or at a LHS.
The diffs can be installed upside down and if so the wheels will turn opposite of they way they should. If you removed them completely, when installing the screw heads that hold the diff housing together should point to the right side when looking at the front diff from the front of the truck and also on the right side when looking at the rear diff from the rear of the truck.

Ace usually has a much better selection of screw hardware, Home Depot usually only carries screws in the 4mm size, and very few 3mm size which is the majority of the screws on a TMaxx.

hmmm thanks snookman, i havent looked at ace, we actually have 1 here, not 100 miles away like the home depot, reason i only heard they had screws.
if you askin bout hingepins, order some on ebay, and the c-clip type are the best way to go.headache to get them little clips on, but well worth the effort

Ok thanks for all the help got everything back togather and now the front wheels are facing outwards( Line left tire with back and right faces out nd vice versa?!?) any ideas what i did wrong guys?(replaced steering bellcranks and bulkheads btw)

Into the wrong hole what you mean i didnt take the turnbuckles off or apart in any many other then to remove the lugs. I think it has something to do with tie rods but i can't get to turn am afraid it will hurt my new steering horn twisting them and real pain in the a to unhook ties at the horn so will it be to much pressure you think and is it more then likely thats the problem with my reassembly?

As far as screws for the tmaxx or revo go. I found every length 3mm screw I needed tok rebuild my tmaxx at ace hardware this includes round head Phillips and countersunk head phillips. From 1/4 inch long to 2inches long. The most expensive one is like .20 cent each

They even had 1 and 2mm size as well
