Hey all, my pullstart keeps braking so i pulled it off, and kept the bit that meshes with the starting shaft. i took apart a crappy old rc car, and took the motor and 7.2v battery out. I'm going to mount the motor (not 1/10th scale motor its very small) on a plastic block and i will solder a switch between "tamiya connector" and the motor. then plug the 7.2v battery in, switch and start. because the shaft which starts the car only turns one way, and spins freely the other way, it will work.
Good Idea?
If it works ill take a couple of photos and post them here. and maybe sell them
:)

Its for a 1/8th ansmann Virus Buggy.

Thanks all.

any pics of your current progress?

You might have an issue with the small motor having enough torque to turn over the engine.

Not enough torque to turn over the big motor is my guess as well. But certainly sounds cool!! Post up some pix!! Good luck, I'm a big fan of homemade mods!! :D
