Okay i am new here so, HELLO! :). I am also new to R/C, i purchased a car a year ago but becuase of GCSEs i havent been able to give it a run. I bought it for £219.00 (Birthday Money). I got it to go today, Hooray. But i bought it home, cleaned it and started it up again just to lubricate the engine. And i could accelerate or brake, It was a one man band going 40MPH straight. I thought it could be that i didnt have a failsafe (i bought one off eBay just now). Just wondering what else it could be. I'm quite a worrier because i dont really get to spend my money and i dont really want to waste it :)

Hope you R/c 'Geeks' could give some advice

Ben

ye

Yeah I mean couldn't. And yeah the wheels don't move please respond asaqp.

Sounds like you lost radio, a failsafe will prevent that from happening. Best thing to do is turn the car on but don't start the engine, have a friend hold it and walk away using the controller. See how far you can get before the car stops working or gets really jittery. If its not more than 50 yards or so you have a radio issue.

it could be radio frequancy i have an mbx and i lost frequency and i couldnt control it either until i put a fail safe on it

.

I started it in my back garden though, i was next to the thing :)

Was it the batteries then?

Ben

i have an ofna gt-lx and the same thing was happening to me. i put new batterys in and it didn't help. i had a short in one of my servos and had to replace it. also try getting new crystals.they could be bad. thats also happened to me. if you have another rc put the crystals in it and see what happens. good luck

ALWAYS make sure you have radio functions before starting it. Turn on the car, and the radio, make sure the throttle brake servo works, make sure the wheels steer, then, and only then start it. If neither of those functions work find out what the problem is before starting it. Sounds to me like the batteries in the car or radio are dead. Replace or charge them depending on what's in there before doing anything else.
