Is that great or what?!!

I sent feedback to 'em asking if they were going to create the ability to find maps by GPS coordinates. (cuz I'm a geek and I need it for work-related purposes to find cell sites on mountain tops)

They answered me. They said it was potentially developmental.

I noticed that areas like New York City are highly detailed for close ups, and other areas are not.

I have been using google maps for a while now but didnt know they had the satalite.

Yea i actually noticed they added that capability it is pretty cool. Most sites charge money for that kind of service. I think there is a posibilty for secruity resons some sites are sort of blurred. You could see it in that link to the capital building. Google is certainly stepping it up. I wonder when Microsoft is going to buy them? LOL
 
The satellite pics are like 4 years old or so... None of them that i have viewed are recent...
 
For security reasons and costs the images are old. 2 years to be exact, the image of my neighborhood shows my nextdoor neighbors pool as it was just completed and that was June 2003 along with the house across the street which was completed in July 2003. It still gets you close though and helps if your trying to locate a piece of property. I used to locate what I thought was a fullsize race track (road coarse) that I kept seeing everytime we took off out of KIND and found out it was the police training facility.
 
Holy crap this actually works,now ill just have to print this out so when i get lost again i can find my house.

That was fun! I found my house without punching anytyhing in, just from maps I still have in my head from when I was a driver.
 
Not all of the pictures are the same age... The ones over the SF airport are quite old, and my dad confirmed that, because he has his office there, and was keeping his stuff in the parking lot a long time ago (4-5 years ago) and the stuff was there... so that piticular one is old.
