This is going down a very familiar path.
Where is Error when you need him?

Worth a shot I guess, but I wouldnt put any dough on the rc.. Kinda like pulling a elephant with a peddle bike, but rock on man. Again, we can't stress this enough.. Weither ya succesfully pull it or not, get it on Vid. Otherwise a might look like the dude in Ratzo's Signature

I heard about the infamous Jimmy thread, but mine is actually possible. Jimmies way like over twice as much as my truck.

I was able to pull it with a 3.5 hp self propelled lawn mower without much difficulty.

Yeah, don't forget about FastEddy's attempt as well! I don't think his Jimmy ever pulled that LST. It went down the same path as his Chris Craft model boat ... never happened! lol

Well, if one doesn't do it I'll start adding to it to see what it takes. I'm not expecting major speed, it's probably gonna be slow as hell, but it'll give me a reason to buy the three speed afterward.

BTW: was that the full size k5 jimmy or the s10 jimmy?

I'm also planning to air up the tires pretty high, that'll make it easier to roll.

hmmmmmmm!

Man I don't see it happening But I would like to see it so I'm rooting for ya . I have this stupid powerful 76 in my Savage with a 3 speed and I still think it would be awfully tough to pull it off but I tell you what if you can't do it then I'll hook mine up to my full size 4x4 Chev and see if it can do it or maybe have a cool tape of it blowing up LOL I put some movies and pics of it here\/ \/ \/ if you want to see it .........Good luck

Its like a cycle if you see it once, its a matter of time before you see it again.

Good luck man.

I'm going to try to make time today to do it. I'm thinking I should pull my rear springs out.

I only shared the footage with people in Norther CA. Its a Team CA thing. Didnt you get a "I pulled my LST" Sticker? :D
As for the boat, Its my Opus...

On a serious note. When others have tried in the past the Clutch and transmission have always been the issue.

I'm in Northern CA and i didnt see the footage... Did you ever fix that cigarette lighter?? :smoke:

I really want to see this. I tried to pull my saturn(car) with my revo and it didn't budge, so I brought out the BB T-maxx and even with a little push it couldn't budge it. It's a lot harder than it seems, just make sure you post a vid or it will end up getting bad in here.

I gave it a trial run with the savage and I stopped because I heard a loud snap from the tranny. It's done.

Next up is the storm. That's a little harder to break.

Like I mentioned above the clutch and transmission are the key. A while back there were some folks on another forum that were serious about this. They were involved in making a custom transmission for the Maxx that was all steel with a serious reduction in gearing. Once they got the transmission to where it needed to be they ran into clutch issues. The forum closed down and I haven't seen them active on other forums from that time on.

I'm sure it can be done, and with the innovations that have come about in the last few years I think the reality of serious hobbiest rather then manufacturers and fabricators getting the job done is closer to a reality.

Vid or not, it's ok with me. He admitted defeat ... not like the whole lst scenario

No, I didn't get a vid. I was just taking a shot at it to see what I'm up against.

I'm going to try it later with the storm, I could care less if I blow this mill up, NitroROCKS is hooking me up on another one anyway.

I still that that tranction is going to be a huge part of it. The rc is so light it will just spin the tires before it does any pulling. But yeah, if it did get waited down enough to not spin the tires, the tranny would be a HUGE issue. Get a rcsolutions cage where ya can stand on it, then try to pull.

LMFAO, I called HPI and told them how I broke the tranny, they're still gonna warantee it for me.

I'm still getting the three speed, but, still cool.

The vids from the other forum showed the RC weighted down with Bricks on both the front and back. They also used an attachment that dropped down from the front of the truck bumper to the same height as the RC bumper to connect the rope.
