Pretty positive its all just personal preference here but i have nitrotane fuel and it says that hpi recommends power fuel. Does it really matter? i don't really think it makes that much difference as long as its the proper nito percentage. Correct me if I'm wrong?

When you get right down to it, no it doesn't really matter for the most part. While there are certain engine manufacturers that recommend specific brands of fuel it's either due to cross-promotional marketing agreements and/or in a test lab they determined that a specific nitro and oil mix percentage provided the most efficient performance or engine longevity.
In the real world, as long as you keep your engine tuned and well-maintained, any fuel will work, the only difference being nitro %age having an effect on overall performance.
