I have heard good and bad about them but I have a buddy that has been running one for a couple years now with no problems at all. I think they are pretty good and a lot better than stock

i was planning on getting it because i keep rolling my t-maxx, it said on the website that if the car rolls it won't stall. is there any thing you could suggest that will make it more stable so it won't roll as much

Making sure you lower it down a bit with the shocks...lower profile tires, better shocks. Slow down more before you turn? VG graphics roll cage will protect you a bit more too. I loved the one I had.

I would get an ofna violator tank then add length to the fuel line for rollover running.
The proline tank does work well, but it's fragile, especially if you're not careful putting the screws in.

Yeah I have to say I never liked the way the tank mounted on the Maxx. I went jammin crt tank on mine. But I also extended mine and run a .28 too. Hard to even call mine a T-Maxx any more. With any other tank it will be some modding but well worth it.

The violator tank is the most common replacement tank for the Tmaxx.
It has a built in fuel filter, a 180° adjustable pressure nipple in the cap and is much more durable than the stock or Proline tank.
It also helps reduce the ½ tank lean issue the stock tank is notorious for. (The proline tank is even worse as far as the ½ tank lean issue, the clunk in the proline tank is also known to get stuck at the top 1/2 of the tank in a rollover)
You will need to relocate/delete the battery box to install the violator tank in its place. You will also need two mounting posts that usually are not included with the tank. Most use 2 steering bellcrank posts or just fabricate your own.

I did this:

I actually had to trim the battery box a little for driveshaft clearance, but this layout works great and is well balanced.
I've put in a proper switch since this picture was taken.

I run the proline tank with absolutly no issues at all. I'm also running an os 18 as well. I'm getting more run time and I have yet to experience the lean running condition on less than a half tank of fuel. It's also a tmaxx first gen.

It's ok, but like snook man said they can have pickup issues, causing a lean condition. Your engine isn't as thirsty as some others so it probably works fine for you.

how hard would it be to install the violator tank? would there be any tanks that would just bolt straight onto the tmaxx 3.3?

Find one with the stands included, then re-arrange things as needed. There are many ways to mount it you just have to be creative and make sure the fuel pickup is toward the rear. You just have to mark out the holes and drill, no big deal.
