So I'm looking for somebody's opinion on VP Racing Fuel???? Is it any good???

Also give me your opinion of the best fuel....

I have the option of VP and Traxxas top fuel so for me it's VP. What other options do you have in your area?

There are better fuel out there
O'donnels is a great fuel
Sidewinder
Black ops
Lot of guys been using torco lately
Byrons is good too
O'donnels smells like candy or maybe I'm just that much of a gear head idk

Vp is my favorite! Ever since using vp nothing else can I get as long of run tines and still have cool temps.. I liked byrons the best before vp and now just Vp

I like the 20% VP, it ran great in all my rigs. I am stuck with Nitrotane at the moment because the LHS was out of VP. I have a 1/2 gal left and can't wait to get through it so I can get another gal of VP. The Nitrotane is ok but it would not be my first choice.

Torco is the best stuff I have ran lately. I was told that VP was the same as Top fuel. I am not sure of it but it was a fuel distributor that told me that. I usually try and stay with a fuel that has at least some castor oil, but this Torco really does run smooth cool and makes awesome power. And smells like bubble gum LOL!

It's not anything like traxxas has less oil for sure... Vp has been around for some time and I highly doubt its the same as top fuel

i run VP and love it ! good power, holds a good tune, Torco is another good choice.

I love reading post about fuel…

It all boils down to personal preference in the end.
What works for me, others may not like and vise/versa.

I’ve tried most all brands over the years and I use to run anything that was available locally. Now that I’ve aged (a lot) I am way pickier with my fuel.

I’ve been running VP (25/9%) for the last couple of years in all my engines and absolutely love the stuff (Nothing like smurf juice Top Fuel which I refuse to put in my fuel tanks, I also will not run Black Ops fuel). I stopped at the LHS Wednesday to pick up a couple gallons of VP and was told they were no longer stocking it or O’Donnell’s… So now I’m giving Byron’s Gen 2 (30/11%) a try. If it doesn’t suite me I will make the 70 mile RT and stock up on the VP. Between my Off-road/On-road and Oval rigs, I burned a little over 17 gallons of VP last season with no fuel related issues.

Well thanks so much for you opinions... it helps me out lots.. and to answer you question about wat other option of fueled I have.... um the closest HS is 50 miles an hour away one direction and its only home converted in a store and all I think they have is VP, so I guess I've lucked out in some great fuel at the only HS...

Just curious Snook why not black ops? Wasn't trying to offend anyone about the VP I really don't know much about was just told by a fuel dealer it was the same as top fuel. Not surprised it's not though as top fuel is absolutely crap. And your right just like anything else in this hobby it boils down to preference. I really like black ops but LHS don't stock it anymore. So far the Torco has been the best for me but like you said its all preference. From what I learned over the years I thought fuel with castor oil was the best way to go. Unfortunate most fuels out now are mainly synthetics only at least in my area. VP is just way over priced here for a quart of VP I can get a gallon of Torco.

I like Torco and wish it were available locally. The best thing about Torco is they actually MAKE the nitro/methanol fuels. The others buy them and just do the blending.

It's the same for me 46 miles one way.

What are you paying for fuel? I buy a gallon of VP for $21.00 plus tax.

WOW! a quart is $25.00 here at the LHS. My brother has actually ran it. I have not. I like the Torco better plus it is cheaper for me I order online and because I buy bulk amounts they give me a discount.

Switched back to o'donnels speed 20% today after running byrons 20% for the last year streight, ran richer with the o'donnels, not sure how being that from my knowledge it is 20-8 where as the byron is 20-12 ?

$32 a gallon.. no sales tax here... but $20 in gas too... hell you got the hookup on VP there man.. where you posted??? Unless that something I don't need to know? I'm in Oregon ...

I run VP 30%. It runs great and the can keeps it nice and fresh. I get it in the Ft Wayne, IN area for 23 bucks a gallon.
