So ill be tackling my front diff this weekend being that i finally got my truck running like beast, i blew it out. They are all original from the 1st gen tmaxx so i got pretty good life out of them. My question is, is there anything i need to know before tear down and replacing all the internals?
 
Good thing you asked. Almost EVERYONE who ever rebuilt a diff for the first time posted another thread asking why the front and rear tires turned in opposite directions.
Put a paint dot on the bottom of the diff before you take it out. They WILL install upside down, and that's what causes the issue.
 
The only thing you really need to know, is that you can get a new one on ebay cheaper than rebuilding it.
