plan on getting a savage...want to get the early 50's truck body for it.

paint it a primer gray and have black primer flames with white striping around the flames.

i want it to be dull/flat/primer like look though...not shiny? any paint that does this? or does the fact u paint the inside make it shiny? wut if i took some sandpaper and maybe scuffed up the body a little bit...not enough to notice it, but enough to get rid of the gloss? or does it not work like that?

NCNitro will be able to tell you exactly what paint to use.. He's done it to a couple of lids..

sweetness. just want that old school hot rod look (dare i say the common term "rat rod")

I've seen the lids that he did with the flat black, & it is exactly what your looking for... You will have to paint the outside of the lid, but you can also paint the inside so that scratches are not seen easily.. The paint he uses leaves a nice flexible shell though.. He'll respond shortly with the brand...

Hey, are you guys talking about me? lol. Yeah, I have done several flat black bodies, and they have held up great.

- Use Krylon ultra flat black
- You have to mask the windows on both sides
- Paint the body both inside and out.

You can either use black on the inside so when you scratch the outside it will not be very noticable, or you can paint the inside silver so it looks like metal from the outside if it gets scratched. I have not tried any other flat paints but I know the Krylon ultra flat black bonds well to the lexan. I have beat the bodies to death and the paint held up well.
