What brushless setup will be a direct fit for this

Traxxas will be selling a single motor mount and cover shortly for brushless conversions.

Novaks HV Maxx systems would be a perfect fit since it is setup to run off twin packs.

I plan on using my Neu motor I have for my abandoned Tekno conversion project along with the Mamba Monster esc. It will be the exact setup I saw on display at RCX.

Excellent, any ideas where to pick up the ESC and motor at a good deal? Do any of the gears need upgrading for durability, I'm hoping not :)

Traxxas claims that it is "Brushless Ready" with steel gears where needed in the tranny.

Which esc/motor combo do you plan on going with?

I have mine all ready to race on a tight on-road track.

Stiff springs and shock oil along with Tekno's sway bars makes it stick in the corners. I also put on some 40 series Road Rage tires with a 1/2" offset.

With the stock electrics and two 6-cell nimh packs, I am lighting the tires on take off. I plan on racing it for awhile using two 2S 8000mah lipo packs before adding a brushless set-up.

Honestly, I think the stock motors will work great for the racing I will be doing.

As far a brushless set-ups, I would just go for one of the Novak HV set-ups. It is a proven system that works well.

I am going to use the Mamba ESC and Neu motor because I already have the Neu motor. If I did not, I would get a Novak.

I need to snap some pics of it after I swapped out some parts.

It looks even nicer with the Traxxas red anodized links, sway bars and Bad Horsie shock covers.

I am more than happy with this rig. It has exceeded all the expectations I had after fondling it a RCX.

In fact, I can see the the ERevo putting a serious dent in the sales numbers of the EMaxx just as the original nitro Revo did to the TMaxx.

Great job Traxxas!

Can you help me? I am planning on going brushless on the erevo, I have bought from this website before, can you tell me what batteries, what motor and what esc I can buy that will work well (based on specs) from them? Heli ESCS work fine too

Hey Rob,

Still happy with this? My birthday is coming up and I think I might request one of these bad boys. I think it would be a fun project for the winter. If most of the hopups for the Revo platinum will work then it should be a really fun off season hopping this thing up. By chance do you have any pictures of your hop up work? Thanks

Tom

Very happy with it.

I will snap some pics and post them up.

Hey Rob,

Out of the box... minus going brushless... did you find anything that needs to be replaced right away? I was going to go ahead and order anything else I might need when I ordered the truck. Thanks my friend.

Tom

Aside from the Tekno sway bars i added, all my changes are cosmetic such as replacing all the silver rods with the Traxxas red anodized tubes. I do plan on swapping out all the stock arms with the set of RPM arms that are from my nitro Revo only because I already have them.

The rig is perfect right out of the box and no mandatory upgrades are required. You will not be disappointed.

Thank you my friend. I can't wait should be here Friday I hope!

Did you cut the Traxxas plugs off in favor of Deans? I was going to order a couple of 7 cell NiMh packs and was going to order them with deans. Sorry for so many questions... the more I think about the truck the more questions pop up. Sorry about that! LOL

Tom

Yes I did. Everything I have is Deans and I wasn't about to switch to Traxxas.

If you do the switch, only cut one plug off and then solder on the Deans to those leads before you cut the other plug off. If you cut both plugs off, you can easily mix up the wires.

Funny you should mention that..... I made that exact mistake when I rewired my Emaxx.... didn't realize the two power leads were crossed. When I hooked them up, instant smoke. Luckily I only lost one pack and not the speedo!

Man this is exciting. The only negative I have heard is that the truck drains batteries quickly. I am looking at getting a two 7 cell packs to go with the truck.

Thank you again for all the info. I don't think I have any questions for now... but I am sure that will change! LOL

Tom

Hey Rob... I just thought of one more! LOL

What size pinion gear are you using with your BL setup? Thanks

Tom

I don't have brushless in it yet since I still don't have the single motor mount and cover.

Ok.. cool. I am sure there is something out there in Cyper world on recomended sizes. Thanks again my friend.
