I think we see this movement for two reasons... the popularity and ease of Brushless Motors, and the power of Lipo's. Your talking light weight powerhoues. These Brushless rigs are just as fast as the nitro trucks. That along with the ease of electric, and you have your movement in the industry. Just my thoughts.

electric is definately where its at. throw away your little flathead tuning screwdriver and grab a computer mouse for tuning. Most people snicker when i tell them my firestorm is electric. then the mamba max/6900 unleashes and they just stand there astonished.

I think ease of use has a lot to do with it, along with maintenance free. For me, it's all about the power to weight ratio. You can pull as much power with a high power brushless system as an average nitro, but the car or truck only weighs have as much. All you 1:1 racers and race fans out there know what that translates into.

I agree, I am getting tired of having starting problems, having to tune, heat, buying fuel-the idea of speed and reliability is worth the money

Yep yep yep. Low maintenance, ease of use and all of the performance of a big block nitro engine. The only folks that aren't 100% sold are the ones that honestly do enjoy the tinkering, tuning and maintenance of a nitro vehicle. Oh, and the smell...

...and the sound

...and the satisfaction

...and the o.k. you get it. :)

As my name suggests I am a brushless freak. I have many in all shapes and sizes. I also have a Smartech Bigfoot, same as the Duratrax Firehammer, and a mountain of nitros. Of course electric is fast, (much faster in fact) and the Gasser is a LOT of fun in my sandpit, but I have a great time pulling out some of my nitros and running them till they stop, then making them go again. Its frustrating, but fun.
I'm not undecided in my choices, I like parts of all three.

E-Revo

The New Traxxas E-Revo
Electric Racing Monster Truck

Available Late May, 2008
$439 APPX

Once again, Traxxas® has broken new ground with unprecedented innovation and performance. The New E-Revo® is the most advanced electric racing monster truck ever created. The 6-time National Champion REVO is already the pinnacle of engineering in the Nitro arena and now E-Revo breaks open an entire new category that embraces today’s electric technology. Built from the start to be electric, E-Revo harnesses all the advantages that electric power brings to the race. The integrated battery compartments position the weight of the batteries as low and as close to the centerline of the chassis as possible. A smooth center skid plate adds strength and beauty while it shields critical driveline components. The low center of gravity, balanced weight distribution, and incredible torsional rigidity yields the best handling Revo platform ever.

The proven 16.8 volt EVX-2 power system delivers massive torque through twin Titan 550 motors. Always looking ahead, Traxxas engineers made E-Revo truly brushless ready with a driveline that’s been proven tough for durability at the extreme with brutal 50+mph 6S LiPo power and custom brushless motors from the aftermarket. The unique battery compartments are easily scalable with built-in features to adapt for multiple battery configurations. A separate motor plate was engineered for a clean, low-slung single motor installation. Of course, E-Revo retains all the benefits of the exclusive linkage based suspension system including the most suspension travel possible, tunable progressive damping, independent ride height adjustment, and the absolute highest level of control for any situation. Hard-anodized Teflon coated shocks with TiN shafts, and dual digital waterproof steering servos have been added to further sharpen the handling. Off the racetrack, E-Revo is our most recent model to be equipped with exclusive fully water-sealed electronics. Only Traxxas makes it possible to run through water, mud, snow and other wet conditions. E-Revo is offered fully assembled and Ready-To-Race with the TQ radio system and EVX-2 electronic speed control.

I would love to mate the chassis and tranny to the front and rear ends of my current Revo.

Looking forward to it's release.

Multiple threads merged.

Traxxas should release this in an ARTR form. I would strongly consider that. Maybe even a kit version but that's highly doubtful. Prebuilt with servos would be a great way to buy this one.

and what do you think abouth this one ? it seems a bit expensive - is it really worth it ?

Multiple threads merged yet again.

Come on guys. At least make an attempt to search and see if the topic is already created.
