I am looking for a performance engine for my nitro tc3? I have heard that novarossi top ct-12s are good. What would be the best engine i could get with out clearing out my bank account? I want something that will scream. Help. Thanx:naughty:

What is better a trinity sirio .12 or a fantom fr-12?

Both are about the same for power and performance. You will find that there are going to be fans of both makers. I'm a Fantom fan but have nothing but good things to say about the Sirio engines. They are strong performers and scream. They also cost a little bit, but then again most quality engines do.

I think you can't go wrong with either one.

Stormer Hobbies has four different Fantom .12FR variants in stock ranging in price from $130 to $160. Take a look.

Or you could try your Local Hobby Shop.

well i've personally got my eye on the trinity sirio .12...that's just me...too bad it'll be a long time before I get it, if at all

i have two questions this time. 1) would a fantom fr-12 with a rotary carb, rear exhaust, and a threaded shaft bolt up to my ntc3 pretty easily? 2) would a mugen engine be better?

also, what is the difference between the regular fr 12s and the new o3 fr 12s on stormer hobbies site? How is one getting 1.30 hp and the others get 1.15 hp?

I can't answer the question on the Mugen. No experience with them. The Fantom should drop in, but you may need to cut the shaft. You would have to ask some-one with an NTC3 for the specifics.

As for the difference in the engines, that has more to do with the internals. For example the materials used for the sleeve and piston. The porting done on the engine. Things like that. I am not certain what they did different between the two engines. But I do know that more horsepower listed for these engines means just about nothing. No one really uses a standardized dyno to check things like HP. Also, gearing plays heavily into things. If you have a small horsepower engine with better gearing than a bigger horsepower engine, the smaller one might just win the day.

Here's Fantom's site: http://www.fantomracing.com/main.htm

They might have your answers posted. If not, send them an e-mail and I guarantee you they will answer both the e-mail and all the questions.

I Love my Mugen mill! Its essentially a Nova mill (I'm pretty certain they make them for Mugen but I could be way wrong) I have the MT .12 Bighead and holy shiznizzle it flies! What I like best is it wont break the bank.

I have yet to meet an unhappy MT .12 or MR .12 owner ;)
