Ok I'm back again with another dilemma. After I spoke with my wife about my choice to pick up the Jammin after the holidays, and after she agreed as long as I sold my MT2 I decided to take it out one last time before I cleaned it up and packed it up till sold. I noticed a small leak around the top of the crankcase near the head and figered maybe the head screws needed retorqued. Ok no problem. Well that wasn't the case and it just was't running like its normal crappy self. I shut it down, let it cool and brought it in the house. After removing the engine and head I discovered a crack in the crank case. HArd to see but enough to be really bad. Well Thats the end of that motor being how HPI don't sell the T-15 cases anymore. Ok so off to the new engine hunt. This truck is going to be sold so now I'm looking for a motor and need to know the smallest to biggest size I could use. I want to pick up something new if possible so that way the new owner won't have as many problems with this truck as I have. I could maybe think about used if it would be from someone I knew..but thats a long shot. I think I would be ok with just about anything as long as it has side exhaust to mount up the oem pipe and such. Any help will be greatly appreciated as you guys have never let me down. I just need pointed i nthe right direction is all.

I really think this truck is either cursed or got pissed because its getting replaced. But either way hope i can find something decent soon. thanks again .

I'd just sell it as a roller that requires an engine. If you buy a new engine for it, you won't recoup the cost of it.

As a side note, the OS 18 CV-R(X) will fit, just may require engine mounts. Not sure what the MT2 uses for engine mounts.

The HPI doesn't require mounts IF you use their engines but if you go after market you will have t obuy the plates to mount. Those go anywhere from 10 to 26 (for the nice finned alu ones) I do believe. Brand size really doesn't matter I just hate getting rid of a truck in none operating condition as I was screwed over myself when i purchased this truck. I got this thing used several months ago and as soon as I tore it completly down cleaned it up and made sure nothing was broken, thats when I started having engine problems. Thansk agan for the help.

I'm with Olds on this.
Sell it as a roller with a bad engine.
You'll be up front about the trucks condition and won't be screwing the buyer or yourself over.

I see new T-15 engines on eBay for about 70 bucks - which is a cheap price for a new engine.
However if you go that route I think you'll be throwing good money away to buy an engine just to ship it out to the new owner.
I'm seeing used MT2's on eBay going for about 150 bucks.
If you buy an engine you’ll probably end up with an additional 75-80 bucks in your pocket...
Sell it for that as is and save yourself the hassle.

I’m also guessing that it’ll be easier to explain to your wife if you sell it as a roller.

Well I found a posible engine for around 30 bucks on the bay but a fellow RCer here maybe interested. I thyink the only reason my wife supports me (barely) on this is because my son loves it. He loves to go out with his dad and run the truck. Don't tell know one but I have him a ELE traxxas rustler on layaway and the LHS I think hes going to poop. Its not a bad truck I just think that when I aquired it I also obtained someone elses problem who had nno clue about how to take care of or use it. I think that all the work I had to put it in to get it to run and then the engine died I think it was discouraging to me trying to keep it going to make my son happy. I'm not going to lie I do this for myself also and love it but seeing his face light up when I get it out is priceless and worth every headache busted finger and bloody knuckle I will ever get. :) Thansk for all the help and responses guys its nice to have someone to come to wheres the addictions are mutual.

Heres the devil truck could use a new clutch set but over all in good shape after I cleaned it up and got it back to running condition.
