I'm looking for a second printer. The ELEGOO Neptune 3 Pro has all that I'm wanting in my next 3D printing adventures... direct extruder, dual synchronized lead screws, and auto-pause when filament runs out. Anybody have good/bad thoughts on the printer?

I just started to do research on what's out there and this popped up for something under $200. I don't need all the bells and whistles. I just want to move on from my Ender 3v2 that I have now.

How is that Elegoo a step up from the Ender 3 V2?

Like I said... dual Z axis lead screw, direct extruder, and auto-pause when filament breaks/runs out are what I want from my next printer. I don't know what printer you have, or if you know much about an Ender 3v2, but my Ender 3v2 is, more or less, a stock Bowden tube setup with a metal extruder. And just this morning, I had to throw away a print (functional item being sold) because filament ran out during the last half hour of the print.

Why not just just setup a Raspberry Pi with Octoprint?
Was never a high priority for me.

Stick an Octoprint setup on it. I believe you can add a filament sensor on it. It adds a camera function to monitor prints, and you can start and stop the prints from your PC via WiFi. And you can buy a direct drive extruder for it.

Maybe one day... after I have a second printer, I'll mess with modding the Ender. Right now, I just really need a solid second printer to use. I don't do much printing like I used to, but there are times when it would be nice to have extra printer to speed things up.

Oh, well in that case, yeah, this might be a good option. To be fair, by the time you hopped up the Ender, you could probably buy this one instead lol. I was just giving you some options. As far as I have heard, Elegoo makes nice stuff. Some of the resin prints I have seen from their resin orinters is super nice looking prints. The Bambu stuff is nice too. Have you checked them out?

Great... down a rabbit hole I go. 😆
I just happen to stumble on Elegoo printers by accident, and when I went to their site and seen the prices... less than what I paid for my Ender 3v2 some years ago.
