electronics problem???

I'm having some problems with my electronics.... I'm thinkin my failsafe is playin up..... ill be bashing along and all off a sudden i loose throttle as though my failsafe has kicked in. when i have a look the throttle arms are kinda twitching. so i turn the electrronics off on the buggy and then back on and its ok again, but it hardly takes long for it to do the same thing again...
does this mean my failsafe are SH!T itself?????

What are you using for receiver batteries, AA's or a pack? I am betting you are using AA's. If so you are not getting enough current to your receiver and thus your servos. Go with the biggest mAh pack you can get, 1600 mAh being about as good as it gets.

They make rechargeable AA's with more mah than that....I'm using Energizer 2450 mah rechargeable AA's and they have plenty of power and longevity to last more than 10 hours of run time for the reciever and close to double for the transmitter easily without a recharge..They also make aa rechargeables that push 1.5 volts a piece instead of 1.2 and it just takes 4 to upgrade the receiver to 6 volts ........Expect to pay 5 bucks each for the batteries though

i am using AA's in the receiver..... I've never had this problem b4 as i have endless supply of AA batteries...... I've been told me guy at my LHS that they are fine to use. and was also told not to use rechargeables in reciever because they are only 1.2volts. but as i said its only just started happening.... but I'm gathering you guys really reccomend a battery pack????

I do, and most here will. IMO a good 6 volt RX pack is a must. The only other reason for your servos to glitch like that would be a bad ground or RF interference.

I have had that same problem with an Ofna FS in my truck with AA batts. The 1.5v rechargables or a 5 cell pack is something you won't regret buying.

Basically, as much as you can afford. I run 1200 and 1400mAh,no problems for me but I don't do any all day races to really test run times.

The bigger the better. I run Venom 1600's in all my nitro rigs.

The best hump pack I ever ran was an Orion 1600. That pack would last all day and hardly loose any charge. I'm running a 2200 in my Savage and it does pretty well for about 4-5 tanks. I can't remember who makes it but I found it at Tower.

Got a link for these? Or are they the rechargeable alkilines? I tried some of those a long time ago... but they let the goo out when I tried using my RC charger for them.

i played around with my buggy and put new batteries in it cos i have got myself a battery pack yet,and took my failsafe out n ran it in my back yard so it could take off far on me if it wanted to.... the problem is still there, but now sometimes i have no electronics at all..... could this mean that my reciver is playin silly buggers on me or is busted????

sounds like you got your reciver wet same thing happend to me when my tmaxx reciver got SOAKED

Check your switch, all servo connections and take your crystal out and put it back in a few times.

These things run on relatively low DC voltage which causes nasty corrosion, even from the humidity in the air. Over time, switches get flaky as do servo connectors and crystals. Usually, unplug/replug the servos a few times and hit the switch with WD40, then work it on/off a dozen times will help clear out some corrosion and give things better contact.

May be a good idea to take your receiver case apart and blow it out with compressed air as well. A build up of dust/dirt in the case can cause weird issues too.

Also, inspect all your wires. If it's only doing this when running, then you have vibration causing you problems you won't find without running the engine. Usually a sign of dirty connectors/switches or broken wire shorting out or a cold solder joint somewhere.
