Yes, we are going to compile a DVD/CD and ship it to everyone who attended. I'm going to go and pickup the new Sony510ax DVD +/- drive this week. Hopefully, it will do what I want it to. ImBroken, MSly, Woodie and myself should have plenty of content to go around

Sly, work sucks after vacation huh? I came into a file server with a full harddrive. I, however, do not envy the scale of your job. I'm surpised you're not bauld from pulling your hair out. Also, the puppet master thing has me a little baffled...

WoodiE, the video idea is awsome. Christian sacrifices too much for this crew. He bent over backwards for us while we were there. Now, making videos and CDs and stuff is another burdon to bear. I hope you're paying him good WoodiE.

Have you considerd SVCD yet? With a "Super Video Compact Disc" (SVCD), you can burn video to a standard CDR and play it back in any DVD player. You also don't need anything special to play the mpeg from the CD on any computer. Nero does a nice job of making SVCDs. Then again, knowing Chris.... :bling:

I have Nero already. Just picked up the latest version last week. I am looking at 2 DVD writers. 1 for the P.C. and one for the home theatre. There is a new Sony for home that I like a lot. This will be for masterring any VHS, Hi8 or Digital 8 tapes quickly. No compression, just straight up DVD encoding. In the Sony format of coarse. Seems as if their format has the leading edge and the majority right now.

The DVD drive for the P.C. is going to be used for authoring intense edited vids.

I will also do some MPG conversions for short clips (1-15 minutes). Anything beyond that is just too big for the web. Especially if I do it in 640x480.

I have a Dazzle device which seemed to work OK for what I was doing a year ago, but, had little to be desired again in the compression area.

Error401 is going to have to give me some pointers on the multi-pass compression methods he uses.

More than likely I will end up doing this at work and take advantage of the cluster resources to make this a more timely process than it will be at home.

Right now I'm not able to read the digi format on my 128mb Sony card without installing the DigiCam software and can't figure out why. Oh well, guess Ill just have to dump it to my laptop and burn a CD and transfer it over here. I'm not going to install the software on this box as it is slow as hell already.

Have you decided on the type of video format you will use? I've done some DIVX encoding from AVI captures, maybe I could assist here.

Let's say I have a passion for purple!! I don't know why I like it so much. Maybe because blue is to "vanilla" for me.

Jeeeezum! I just clipped all the SHORT MPG's together and created one. It came out to be 221mb for 6 minutes!!!! WTF!!!

okay - well first - they rip my bags aprt at orlando, thinking the starter box was a bomb, made me pull the wire off the on switch. then my plane broke down on the runway. finally, when i get to the hotel room, i find that my shampoo bottle exploded all over my rc stuff. i had herbal essences smelling everything!

i ran outta cigs at the bmx track and was bumming heavily off of christian and imbroken. so as a nice thing to do, i stopped at 7-11 to pick up a pack for me, and one for chris and TJ (imbroken). Well, cigs are about 1.50 - 2.00 a pack in FL. I get the 3 packs and hand the guy a $5. He tells me that the total for the 3 packs is 17.50!!!! I about poop a kitten! Floored, I freaked out, asking him if he was on crack, making a huge specticle. Imbroken, MCvickj, and Msly were about to piss themselves they were laughing so hard.

It was great.

Of course there are also the stories of Woodie humping the giant stuffed black bear, woodie hanging out of the minivan at 70mph, and the list goes on.....

WoodiE loves to hump inanimate objects. I think this explains his last few choices in girlfriends.
I also have a photo of him trying to pick up a He-She. as well as photos of him humping a stuffed Llama in L.V.
