Well, for Christmas my favorite girl picked me up a new body for my Revo. Since I was a little too impatient to wait until after the holidays to get some real paint, and what not, I shot it with Krylon Camo. I learned some valuable lessons during this process, so I am actually glad I did it the way I did. There are still some things that I need to do like redo the bumpers. But that's what this is all about, a little here and a little there.

+1 Racer....I made that mistake once. Used acrylic paint once and about 2 weeks latter that body looked like a leper lol. Paint just flaking off all over the place. Right now though it does look very nice :)

I figured as much, I just had an itch to do something with it. I went into it with that in mind, like I said I was just too impatient. It will give me something to do when it does chip.

Lookin good until your first hard hit, if its cold outside you will bust lots of paint off, either way it will chip off, I used Krylon Camp Green for my Axial Wraith, and even slow driving rubbing on rocks shredded the outside just chipping away huge flakes of paint. You will regret using it but its nothing out of pocket really.

This is my SCT after I took a hard hit on a double, landing shy of it slamming into the face of it.

All the blue and black thats not masked or in pattern is what flaked off from 1 hit.

I just got my first set up airbrushes. I got a .5mm tip side feed and a.3mm syphon feed. My next purchase will be a .2mm gravity feed for real detailed work. Now I just need some paint and ALOT of practice hehehe

Is the airbrushed paint alot more durable than the rattle can, cause for as log as mine last it seems like a waste unless u put it on the shelf when the trucks off duty.

The Krylon camo flat was what I used. It didn't hold well. I'll get some pictures tomorrow or later today so that everyone can see the outcome after a few tanks of fuel. I had plenty of coats on the lid, and they were nice and even, but didn't stick well. I made sure that I cleaned the body good and did all the prep I could with the exception of using denatured alcohol.

There are special aerosol and airbrush paints that can be used with a lexan body that stick better.

Wow, that's taken a major beating on the paint.
Now would be a good time to spray the inside with some olive drab for an official camo job. :D

Not a bad idea, may I should keep hitting it with different colors each time...

thats just what the special lexan paint i bought did, almost seems not worth painting a body unless its a shelf queen,[which mine sure isnt]. How do ya make it more durrable?
