So as you know I have been doing my RC in the air for a while. Still am! But...

I'm looking at my Vapor buggy and I really want to get it running again, but what is holding me back is I know if I spend a few hours straightening things out it will just disintegrate the next time I come off a jump wrong.

It is currently down because the last time I drove it back in, what must be April, the back end hit a bump on approach to a jump and the car went off the jump nose down instantly flipped head over heels at 30mph. It ended up cart wheeling along banging each wheel in turn until it came to a stop. 3, yes 3 wheels had bent suspension shaft holders allowing the suspension arms and drive shafts to fall out, both front hub carriers cracked, both F and R anti roll bar stays snapped, front and rear diff cases cracked!

My plan *was* to auction the alloy upgrades on ebay for near their retail price and add the rest of the buggy sans engine and radio for free! Then use the money + some to buy a good brand/quality buggy kit.

Thing is, the only kits I can find that don't include engine and radio are VERY expensive. Such as the Losi 8 which is around £350 over here!

My options look like:

Yes, same buggy, but a fresh start with it and it's very cheap cheaper than buying parts to replace the broken parts on mine!

WAY too expensive!

Or, forget the kit and buy another cheap RTR:

You get what you pay for. You can tear up 2 cheap machines or you could have one quality machine that's always worth fixing. Spend alot now, save in the long run. Spend a little now, spend more in the long run. That's my opinion. When you jump, are you watching the vehicle go away from you? Or do you stand in front of the jump and drive it toward you? I do the second one it made my jumping / backflip skills alot better.

I'd keep my eyes peeled for a blown up Ofna buggy or something similar that your engine will fit. Then part out the vapor and take the loss. I'd really be aggravated if I had to look at two junk vehicles. If you paid 350 for the 8ight, you could still be enjoying it 10 years from now. 35 a year for a kick ass rig is hard to beat.
