Since i just busted both my tmaxx 2.5 (snapped rear diff bevel gear) and my savy x (two bent shock shafts and awaiting on aluminum big bore shocks). And since I'm already wrenching on it, i am wondering if there is a diff spool/locker for the savage x and if so, where i can get one? Thanks in advance.

Expect more breakage if you run on hard surfaces. Handling will suffer every where. Lockers have their perks though. They help with hill climbing.

Like Matt said unless you are running up hills or only in a straight line I would not put in a diff locker. I have pictures of a shelled transmission from one run with a locked rear diff. You will get all the handling and finesse of a Tyco toy with it in. Just my two cents but I personally always advise against it. Now there are still a a good option for you. Get one of the new sealed oil filled 3.3 diffs and put some super heavy silicone oil in it like 150K or heavier and it will act almost like a locked diff when driving forward in a straight line but will still give that stress relief when going around a corner.

Thanks for the advice, I'm almost always running in soft sand but i think i might just take out the grease and fill the diffs with a heavy weight oil! One more question, would it be too heavy to fill the diffs with automotive gear oil?

Actually thick silicone oil is way heavier than say SAE 90 or 120 and it keeps retains better under heat than grease or auto oil. I would say get some 100k or 120k. I run 100k in mine in the rear and it is pretty decent. Saves on breakage too
