RC Driving Style
Going thru some mbx5 setup sheets, i see some drivers using no o'rings some 2 some 4 in their diffs? Can some give me the low down on what the the hell thats about lol

Most people are using no O-rings, i'd go for that option. From what I can see, the o-rings are making the diffs tighter/slower, so people are most likely using them as a tuning option

The rings go behind each of the 4 bevels right? I forget...
 
The o-rings people are taking out, have nothing to do with sealing the diff case, I assure you. There are only two o-rings associated with sealing the case, as well as a main large gasket/o-ring. (its a gasket on kyosho, I'm pretty sure its a gasket on mugen too) The sealers are the rings on the ends of the diff that the two output shafts go through.

These o-rings on the bevel shafts (?) are 'just there' for some pathetic reason. Like I said, people are using them as a tuning option. Every racer i've talked to so far, runs 0 of the 4 o-rings in their diffs, so thats what I'd be doing. I'll let an X5 guy take over the fine details, I don't own one.
 
It's a matter of preference. There is little difference between using the o-rings and not using them. The XR works diffs were the same way so this is nothing new with Mugen. My advice, put them in when building the car. After you put a couple of races on it, take the diffs apart, clean them, and remove the o-rings. However, DO NOT forget to put the shims back on.
