A center diff keeps all four tires in contact with the ground. Just like when you lift an inside tire and all the power goes to it. Forward momentum is lost, allowing the tire to return to the ground. Racers opt for the center diffs so the front tires stay down and they can steer.:)

I don't race:) is it beneficial for bashing? and will the truck loose it ability to wheely?

The center diff also allows the rear brake kit to be run as well which allows you to adjust the brake bias. I'm a basher and have been running the center diff kit for about 3 1/2 years.
